At first none of these solutions worked on their own but when i did the DNS change i went from 15mbs dropping to 0 for a good 10 minutes to a straight 60mbs no drops to 0. Thanks

Open the application for the Win64 version, for some reason it opens by default in Win32, I opened it in the Win64 version and it improved. The default path is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64

Hi, it worked! I did everything except deleting the 'cache' files. I paused the download of the Fortnite update, closed Epic Games, made the changes, and then relaunched it. Before the changes: my download speed was about 60 MB/s (and at least 50% of the time it would drop to 0 MB/s during the SSD writing process, which went from 0 to 120 MB/s, then resumed downloading without writing) [Estimated update time: at least 2 hours]. After the changes: I was downloading at just over 130 MB/s, but more importantly, my SSD was writing at a steady 130 MB/s without stopping. (Estimated update time: around 20 minutes.)

for anyone woundering the deleting Epic Games Cache did in fact work in my case anyway before my downloads was super slow and average about 4-5mbps after deleting it my fortnite updated less than 5mins and now i average around 10-16mbps

Easy fix mate, exit epic games launcher via the tasktray (bottom right corner of your desktop)
