How To Speed Up Your Android Tablet (& Phone!)

Is your Android tablet feeling a bit slow & sluggish? These tips & tricks should give it a much need speed boost! In this video, I'm using a Nexus 7 2013 and ASUS ZenPad 8.0 to demonstrate but it applies to all Android devices.

​@@pepsiluke No, that doesn't improve performance, just graphics. Just use Force GPU Rendering (on older Android versions) or use Disable HW Overlays (on both older & newer Android versions) :)

Is there some reason why completely turning-off the animations wouldn't be even more effective than the x0.5 scale option, or were you just assuming no-one would want to completely lose them?

Well this has helped the speed on the home screen but the apps are still being extreamly slow. I guess I'll just have to get a new tablet which is a shame as it was fine but all of a sudden has become slow to the point where it can't do anything, even load up basic apps. The only thing I did was not use it for a couple of months 😟😢 RIP 10 inch Lenovo tablet, you were well loved. Sleep now in that bottem drawer. You'll always be rembered for being the best short lived tablet I had for a few years.

Don't update your SW. With time and more updates it makes the device slower. And also Software update can either make your battery better or worse. Better to stick with what you have already. If not then root and custom ROM option is there :)

with cheap tablet, after one year never update the device, new update just made it slower and slower over time. What to do is just update the apps through Google Play

I think the best android tablet is the NVIDIA SHIELD Tablet K1 however the build quality isn't the best that's why the ipad air is still a bit better in my opinion

Here's a cool trick I learnt to speed up your iPhone. This trick as far as I am aware refreshes or deleted your cache and speeds up your phone. Hold the lock key until you see the slide to lock graphic appear. Once you see it hold the home key button until everything disappears and you return the home screen. Hey presto faster phone.
