I’ve been using your drills and those in the app and yesterday I was consistent on my draw at 1.6 seconds at 12-15 yards on an A zone steel.

Keep it up Mike! Great work there, it's coming together!

Hey Rob! That is a GREAT drill with slapping the timer with the left hand while getting the grip on the gun with the right! That is how I warm-up now before I start doing draw drills (either dry or live fire). That drill alone has helped me get consistently under 1.0 seconds on the draw with an A zone hit! I'd recommend everyone try that drill and see how well it works!

Thanks Brian! EXCELLENT job on getting that consistent 1s and under draw! It's amazing how simple efficiencies can make a huge reduction in time right??

@@robepifania Hey Rob, I just read your article in the USPSA magazine on setting up the holster/mag pouches. AWESOME article! I wish I would have read that when I first started 4 years ago! No one ever told me how to set it up, so I did it trial-and-error style (for the entire first year of competing), but it seems to work just fine now. Plus, I can't change it now because when I tried, it just didn't work!

@@docgsreloading7985 thanks for reading!! yeah I started with Taco pouches and a comp-tac paddle holster, so this would have helped me a lot as well hahaha If your setup works well for you, no need to change unless you want to invest the time and effort into training enough with it for it to become second nature :)

@@robepifania It's funny you say that, because I've always had my mags vertical on my left hip, bullets forward. After doing that for 2 years, I put a mag in front of me angled to my left with the other 3 in their same vertical position--and EVERY time I reached for a mag, I always went to the vertical ones and never touched the one I put in front! It had become such a reflexive move for me, that I just couldn't change what I had ingrained through training. Needless to say, I got rid of the mag in front of me and just put it back where it was. It certainly hasn't mattered since I've gotten my mag changes (THANKS TO YOU) down to less than a second (for the most part)! I keep working at it!

I would love for you to do a appendix concealment video on this subject matter. Great video. Thanks

Sure thing, I can do! Lots of the same stuff with concealment, only a few strategies for clearing the garment quicker and more effectively :) - once the gun is out of the holster everything here will apply!

My draw the faster I go or even when going slow, sometimes my sights point to the left. I am right handed.

@dalewalters357 Is your dominant eye your left eye?
@dalewalters35726 күн бұрын
@ no.. I am right eye dominant. If I bring my right elbow down and tight to my side I am more consistent in bringing the front and rear sights aligned.

@ I am bringing the pistol up close to the center line of my chest and it seems that I don’t always flex my right wrist enough.

@dalewalters357 I’m no expert here by any means. I’m here to get any little nugget of gold to improve just like you. What I can suggest from what you have said is during your presentation, your left hand is just along for the ride. Instead of accelerating your presentation. When you form your grip accelerate with the left hand while staying target focused. This will align you under your dominate eye better as your pushing that way with your left hand. Hope this helps.
