How to spend a day at Sly Park Recreation Area at Jenkinson Lake, we will tell you! Sly Park at Jenkinson Lake is located in Pollock Pines, California in El Dorado County just off highway 50. It is a 4.2 mile drive once you take the Sly Park road exit.
There is camping available at Sly Park Recreation area, 191 spots to be exact, but THIS video explains how fun and beautiful it is to simply spend the day at Sly Park Recreation Area at Jenkinson Lake.
There is what is simply called, the Main Day use area. It is very wooded which provides great shade on a hot day at Jenkinson Lake. There are many picnic spots and somewhat easy access to the water.
Jenkinson Lake provides great camping, fishing and boating access.

I like the way you use the map to show how it is all laid out. Gorgeous trees and water views. Looks so peaceful. Yikes, good tip about the shoes. That glass piece was huge! Love you guys "on the water" 😂😂👍😂👍😂😂

Thank you for the compliments. We love being on the water, obviously, so, that's why I am not a fan of Winter lol! Man, I gotta be somewhere during the Winter, like Florida!

Nice video. Good to see clear skies and no smoke. That is a a big lake that looks a little empty. Beautiful area though shame about the glass and other things hiding beneath. Thanks for showing your part of the world. 😁😎

Thank you Hymie! The lake is a little low which is natural for this time of year. We are praying for a rainier season this year for sure.

You captured the shimmering water beautifully, I also liked the video shots through the windshield. The editing made the video fun to watch and the cartoon characters on the lake were a nice touch. The inclusion of Google Earth images and the description of different campgrounds were informative. I enjoyed the video very much. Andrew

I can see why the Pinecone area is popular. It's a bit away from the main road and has that sweet little isthmus. 🌲

Yes, for the most part! Sly Park has a lot of room in their Day Use areas, but of course, this was early October, so there were not a lot of people. We didn't dare go during the Summer for obvious 2020 reasons. Thanks for watching!

Hi there, I'm trying to camp this yr. What is the best water front area to camp with a camper?
@weareanjunafamily1653
@weareanjunafamily1653 Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Well, we don't camp, but I would believe, and from what I have seen, the Pinecone or Pinecone Strip has lake-front views and easy access to the water. The later in the year you camp, the closer to the "belly" of the lake by the Pinecone area is where you want to be, for water levels, although, this year is starting off very well for water and will likely have a full lake, late into the year.

Is this a first come first serve camp ground?
@SippyCupAdventures
@SippyCupAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
First come, first serve DAY-USE area, yes. This is the biggest day-use area, and the first one you come to after paying at the gate. There are multiple day-use area. IF you're looking for camping, you'll have to look it up. I may have it in the description (the camping website) TY!
