When the City took possession of the former Naval Shipyard many locals especially were warned GPS likely will not work within the Island for various reasons. Even the Police were confused when summoned to a call there.

Hey Paul! No, not on AirBnB. I knew of this place before, but for two reasons, we never had stayed before. The first, we haven't had a reason to stay in the Placerville area, and secondly, it's pretty pricey. It was sort of a fantasy to me that we'd ever stay there. We believe we found a "hole" in their reservations. It was $399 for the one night. We typically don't spend that kind of money on a stay, but one, not sure we will pay that low of a rate to stay (and it was worth it) and we are not reserving any place for the whole month of August. Felt we'd "splurge" a bit. I think the "ticket" is, and had I know this, I would have put it in the video, is to get on their email list. I will be receiving email alerts about lower prices, etc. Thanks my friend! 🥤

Hi, I'm from Roseville and just recently went to the ocean for the first time. You look like you know all the spots , I'm looking for a beach to find shells and one I can get in the water since I've never been in the ocean. I plan to go for Friday night amd come back Saturday night.. I don't like a ton of people or like super busy places. Do you have any suggestions?

Ok, so first, you cannot SWIM in any of these beaches in Northern California (within driving distance). They are TOO dangerous. IF you just want to stick your feet in, then yes, but be careful. I would suggest Bodega Bay simply because it's the shortest drive from Roseville. This video shares our favorite beaches in the region. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4nPaoenbq2Zia8si=L8SRgLAAdWr4GcIi You can find shells. Not big shells, but all those beaches are okay. TO find a gold mine of sea glass and shells, mostly broken oyster shells, this is the place kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2iWe4iOf9-FrpIsi=V7LzXdy_Uxwn1Tc8 You can get in the water. It's a bay, and not necessarily the "ocean" and you can get in the water (it will be warmer) BUT you HAVE to wear sandals or shoes cause your feet can get cut up with all the broken oyster shells. Here is our video on a day trip to Bodega Bay (or, you can spend the night there) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hWTQoIKEabljpNksi=9NWLSq3FDDToVZeE Finally, Half Moon Bay is really nice but its a bit farther of a drive, south of SF. "Most" the beaches are better to get into than Bodega Bay. Feel free to reach out if you have any further questions! TY!

Great informative film. My question is: reservations are required, OK, so what type of visitors are "clogging" up the area? Boaters, jet ski's? If you banned motorized water toys, would that filter out enough people? Lake Tahoe has had some bad watercraft accidents/fatalities. Also, this would help keep Tahoe blue. Or is this even an issue in this area? I'm just curious, we've never been to this area. Is there a certain visitor causing this to happen, do you think?
@SippyCupAdventures
@SippyCupAdventures 22 күн бұрын
@@ChooseAdventureCaliforniaStyle hey Paul! Yeah, it’s not going to alleviate crowded beaches at Sand Harbor. It’s going to relieve the traffic congestion. That’s the main focus. Cars can be backed up for miles waiting to get in. Hence, backed up traffic and the locals can’t get anywhere. Also, people will pull over on the side of the highway and find “secret beaches” having nothing to do Sand Harbor, but which are near by. I eluded to this at the end of the video. It will still be crowded. But, you two definitely need to go! Just wait until early Fall. Thanks my friend!

We used to stay in that little complex where you did about 30-35 years ago. It wasn't associated with the Jenner Inn back then. It was called the "Lazy River Inn" back then. All the units had furnishings made by the owner. All were one-of-a-kind creations. Every room was different. Now it's "upgraded". I remember they had a lovely garden area where you could sit right next to the water. I also remember waking up and looking out the bathroom window and it was all foggy and we could see otters swimming in the channel. So many memories of that place.

I've never been to Treasure Island and always wondered what was there, history... This video was great! There's a conspiracy theory that the world's fairs all over the place were constructed by a previous civilization. And over time our civilization is demolishing all the old buildings to cover up the old knowledge. I know, not my theory but it is a thing. So really interesting the future of this place. Despite being a conspiracy theory they really do keep tearing down these beautiful historic buildings. If you wanna dive into the theory I can send you links 😉. Great video!

Thank you, Kenny. I have learned, through your video, and research, and from visiting the island, that there is a lot of uncertainty on the island and of its future. Building the affordable housing is a step in the right direction, as the island and the powers to be simply cannot forget about the importance of affordable housing and how critical that demographic is to the island. When we visit SF, I think all the time about the staff at these hotels and restaurants who provide excellent service, knowing that most of them don't live in the city, but have to commute from S. city, Brisbane, Oakland etc. Treasure Island needs to be able to house this workforce, and also build their "palaces" too.
