One of the simplest, best explained, no wasted talk , well- filmed and interesting how-to videos of ANY kind that I've seen on KZbin. I should be able to do this after only one viewing. Congratulations!

Thank you so much for this! I'm reading 'respect the spindle' by Abby Franquemont, and she tried to show a picture tutorial of how to spin yarn using only a stick, but I just couldn't picture it. You've explained it so clearly here and really made it easy to understtand! You're an excellent teacher, I hope you're doing well in the 8 years since you shared this. Thank you again.

I am getting a Samoyed puppy soon and I have read that people in Siberia (where the breed originated) used to make warm clothes out of their hair because they shed so much! I was extremely fascinated by this, but I figured it wasn’t something I could do-until I found your video!! Thank you so much! I am so so excited to try this!!

I subscribed! holy smokes! this is the best video I've ever seen for teaching very elementary spinning- I think this would be the best method for teaching children to start with to see if they would like the spinning process- and then graduate them to a drop spindle :) your tutorial was awesome :) thank you for posting this

I am a pretty new daily needle felter, never accomplished spining wool (tried once on a spindle when was a teen in a forest group, didn’t get anywhere, the wool kept snapping and snapping) and I wondered if I could spin yarn with by tying the wool to a pointy crystal instead of a spindle, surprisingly it just worked! Just than I searched to see how other people do spin yarn with simple tools, that seems to be more consistent from the to strands of yarn I made (I made them for felting so I don’t really mind the inconsistency, want to make some greem foliage with it so it works good) but I am going to try this out, it is awesome that you don’t need any equipment for spinning! How fun!

how neat! I've never spun anything lol but after one of our passing conversations in the car about things we might do when we get in the country & here I am watching videos about sheep and wool and now spinning dog fur! I didn't even know that was possible 15 mins ago lol thank you so much and I will definitely be showing my homeschooling children your nifty technic. Is there a certain length the dog fur has to be in order to use this method? we have a dog (who sheds like crazy) her fur is about 2 inches or so in length

ThisRandomJourney sounds like you are in for some fun! From my experience I would say about 2 inch fur should work very well. Google Cheingora to get more info about spinning and using dog fur. Hope you all have fun with it. Welcome to the wonderful world of spinning!

Am I too ditzy?😢 This doesn't work! It just wraps on and off, no twists are ever made.

As you are spinning you need to let the pencil slip in your hand. It really does work👍Watch it again, don't give up! You can do it👍💪
