I'm a late adopter and just started an Instagram account, so thanks for this video! It really helped! But as an addendum: if you make your first slice the entire width of the image, then right click on the little blue box in the upper left corner of the slice, it gives you the option to divide the slice evenly into however many you want (I do a lot of wide panorama shots that need 3 or 4 slices). I found it a lot easier than trying to fiddle with grids.
@CoryTheRaven4 жыл бұрын
I'll also add that, depending on your browser, you can set it to become a virtual mobile device and upload photos to Instagram directly from your computer. I use Chrome, which has it under Developer Tools. Just thought I'd mention that in case you or anybody reading didn't know. Thanks again!

Thanks for this, appreciate the tip. Just did a 16:10 in darktable and sliced it in gimp. In Gimp had to use the vertical guides, one at far right edge to get the width and then another one divided by 2 to get center. Then use menu Filter->Web->Slice to get the 2 images. Worked like a charm.

Great video, well presented!!! I’ve found it quicker to follow your process up until the image has been moved to Photoshop....from there I save, the image is then taken back to Lightroom as a TIFF. From there I duplicate the image twice, set the 4x5 crop, set the left image and the right image and then save from there as a JPEG, ready to upload to my social media profiles. For me, I like this way because I use Lightroom for all file organisation and this makes it a bit more efficient for my needs.

Select slicer tool, right click - ''divide slice'' (customize to your liking), file - export - save for web, select all the slices, select a preset then customize it (it applies to all the slices), select location and you're done. I don't mind advertising, make a living all the power to you. However fluffing up the explanation is kinda like taking a cab from bronx to manhattan and the driver decides to take the Golden Gate bridge to avoid the traffic. Anyway thanks for the tutorial, helped out in a pinch (never sliced a thing until now).

I like this process, however if you change the crop/properties in Lightroom, then you could end up with confusion if you want to use that photo again in another format.
