Brilliant, I have just sat at my desk, with all the bits to hand, played your video, pausing it as i did each step, then play for the next part. Now, about half an hour later I have a lovely new wheel. Just need to true it now. Thank you.

That is awesome. I wait for the day that KZbin allows editing movies that have been posted. I have so many ideas that would make my videos better.

Great. Best video I found for spoke lacing. It becomes clear when you look at the angles on the rim.

This was hands down the most in-depth video I could find after hours of failing to get the right pattern I stumbled across your video and it led me step by step to having a laced wheel!!!

Good luck. It's really not difficult to spoke a wheel. Truing the wheel can be tricky though.

What can I do if I didnt measure the offset before removing the old spokes? Do all motorbikes have an offset? I cant find any mention of it in the manual, only the horizontal and vertical buckle tolerances

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?"

Thank you for the video but have to tell that I lost the sequence due to the way you filmed the video at 15:16 can't see the rim just your back

Very simple, after you flip the wheel over, take the first spoke to the left of the center line and put it in the 3rd hole to the right, then grab the 2nd spoke to the right of the first one you started on the hub and screw it in the 4th hole and repeat every 2 and 4 til done. They should all fall in line.

Hi pretty good video , one question l have a rear conical hub from a Yamaha dt 200 .It came out from a 18 x2.15 wheel and l wanted to set this hub in to a 17x3.00 rims but when l tried the original spokes on this new rim they were to long so it didn't work . Then l ended up straining out the spokes at the same angle and setting them in the front wheel wich is also 17 but x 2.50 with a smaller front hub even when l had to cut some of the spoke that came a bit out of the rim . My question is what size of spoke do you think it will fit this rear set up or if there's any way of me taking measurements to be able to know the exact spokes l need for this rear rim with this hub ? Thanks

Old video and can hardly see things clearly, but it is great. Only thing they left out was how to tighten up everything and make it true to center.
@tuguybear9307 ай бұрын
So why do you need to mark the valve stem hole. Isn't the hole a mark in itself? Not as if there is more than one of them.
@motoprof14416 ай бұрын
Some rims have another hole for a rim lock and I like to mark the valve stem hole to make it easier when installing the spokes.

@lennym12735 жыл бұрын
You left out the second most important part, the proper way to tighten the spokes so that the wheel doesn't wobble or is centered...

Yes, that was going to be on a different video. I actually would like to update this video since the process can be simplified much more .

DOH! 36-spokes. And a single rotor of course. So I'm gonna guess it's something like a GS450 or GS250 or thereabouts?

As much as I appreciate your video, the back of your shirt reveals very little. For me the last two steps is the most critical and your video doesn't give me a clue as to how to finish the job. Thanks anyway for the first half.
