He got right to the explanation , no bullsh-- ting around , clear and concise .. I followed his lead and successfully laced two rims on a yamaha roadstar that had more spokes than this rim ( 56 ) and was successful .. PS , I wouldnt want to do this for a living .. THanks Mr. Oaky

Many thanks. After watching your first video on lacing; I was pretty sure I would need to look to anyone else for truing. Two great videos that are simple enough for me - a complete novice, to follow. I am rebuilding a CB360 over here in England and am going to give it a go on a spare back wheel - soon to be new best back wheel.

Thanks you for both videos(lacing and truing). I'm working on my first little vintage 1982 Honda XR and am re-lacing as we speak. It's next to impossible to find a full set of spokes for these back wheels! Bought a whole set from EBay from a Chinese seller and the outside spokes didn't have enough material at the 90 degree bend, so wouldn't reach around the hub to the rim. Ended up having to piecemeal individual NOS spokes from random people on EBay....Ugh. Your videos are very clear and easy to understand(and MUCH appreciated).

how do you know if the hub is in the centre of the rim
@rossie2739 жыл бұрын
you make it look soooo easy . What's the bet when I try it the thing looks like a circular pogo stick . Wish me luck . Thanks again
@brentroche11 жыл бұрын
So if you have the wheel in front of you and it kinks to the left, tighten the spokes that attach to the right side of the hub, this will pull the rim across to the right. you should also loosen the spokes on the left hand side of the hub. respin and repeat until straight...

What tension are you using for 16" wheels please
@thekidwith4names74710 жыл бұрын
zip ties work good in place of a straw.You can buy a wheel balancer/truing stand like that form harbor freight for about $50.00.

Hi!. Good job, but one thing bothers me, what about line-positioning of rim due to hub. maybe when hub is relatively big diameter it set in right place by it self, but if U respoke front wheel 21' where spokes are longer, it may require some attention. Cheers:)
@Cratergrease11 жыл бұрын
Excellent video, but... What if there's a wobble in the rim? How does one true that up? I bought a dt 175 with a good wobble in the front rim... Spin the wheel off the ground and u can see it! Can this be fixed or am I looking at a new assembly? Thanks, and keep up the good work!!!
@oldcarman689 жыл бұрын
You have to remember to go slow and watch what you are doing because what you do on one side really affects the other side. I should video the 19" front Harley wheel that I am going to respoke and add a new rim in place of an old rusty one. I already have the rim and spokes that I took off another later model hub which had a larger diameter axle.
@balncobra10 жыл бұрын
I wonder if they make an open ended adjustable torque wrench with a very low inch/lb rating. That would ensure 100% accuracy with each spoke.
@602nelsonjacob10 жыл бұрын
Question for you: I just did my rear on my yz426. The rim is ok very little wobble, The thing is the nipples have thread showing only on the inside spokes. the outsides you can't see any thread. Is this ok or am I doing something wrong? I know the spokes are the same size all the way around. stock hub stock rim, any help is appreciated
