Great video! I too am an LV collector, and like yourself, I love the quality, pristine detail, and long term wearability. My first messenger was purchased in 2003, the Bosphore PM and it's still going strong in 2019 and looking beautiful. I have probably some 25 pieces in my collection from messenger bags both canvas and leather, wallets, belts etc. Your very knowledgeable and have such screen presence and just delightful to watch. There is indeed a great deal wrong with buying counterfeit bags. The money made from them goes to support human trafficking, illegal drug trade, terrorism etc. and as you can probably guess, an illegal operation has zero regulation about the working conditions of those making them and henceforth, they are often women and children basically working as slaves. Buying a replica bag is simply never ok and it is illegal in both the US and the UK. I strongly agree with the comment that says please do not to use your influence to support this illegal activity.

Let's be honest here. Whilst all the above should be considered as it is a CRIME to buy counterfeits I do believe that most who are against fakes are just annoyed because it takes away from the idea of "exclusivity" which is just elitist. Hence, they hide under the veil of "it's wrong,it's a crime" It's so easy to make a good counterfeit without using child labour and slavery and that isn't the case everywhere. It's also easy to considerably mark down lv prices....Whilst I think stealing intellectual property is disgusting I do believe that big brand bags/fashion are way over priced and don't care about providing access to EVERYONE. It's ironic how people get so heated when it comes to fakes but readily wear and buy into major companies that use sweat shops because it's the "real" deal, or wear makeup that is used and tested on animals. Wear clothes modelled on very young girls that are continuously harassed and sexualised in their industry. Morals are morals. Sorry but You can't pick and choose, maybe those kind of comments could be taken more seriously if people cared more about the world than their status. Whilst I myself am guilty of buying into big brands I do believe there's a bigger underlying social issue here that we choose to ignore. Please don't take this as a hate comment ❤️ but I sincerely believe we need to see an even bigger picture and what is really wrong with buying into SOME big brands.

Hey I bought a speedy 25 in store and 6 months later I was watching your video and panicked because you said about the symmetry at both sides of the zip. Mines isn’t completely symmetrical I went back to Louis Vuitton and they sent it to France for it to be checked as I wasn’t happy at all. The head of quality control sent me a letter to say that there’s nothing wrong with my bag, it’s a hand stitched piece and it doesn’t necessarily have to completely match x x

If you buy fakes it’s not legal because it’s copyright infringement. Fakes are made in sweatshops. I’m a LV girl but I use to buy fakes in my 20’s. Now that I’ve been buying real LV for years, I appreciate the quality difference AND because they aren’t cheap I only buy a new bag every 3yrs or so. Each time I carry a bag I can remember the fun of the purchase and marvel at how the bag has worn aka memories. Thank you for the great tips. And what a relaxed view on counterfits, I do like that. But at the same time, fakes don't come from nowhere. I kind of wish people made decisions from a more informed point of view I guess, that giving money to fake business might mean you give money to illegal business that do more illegal stuff than simply bags. Fakes are utterly pathetic. The main way I can always tell a fake is by the handles/straps. The sad part is these people are cluless!! They're walking around looking all confident wearing a fake bag and think no one knows.

I have a few real LV. and copies, not big differences, great copies. It’s annoying when women (not men they don’t really care) ask “ is it real”. Ppl will treat you differently if ur carrying a $2k. Bag. It puts you in a different income bracket, and ppl show more respect to others they think have money. Lots of ladies walking around with fakes, who cares enjoy ur bags and stop trying to keep up with others.

Forget about clues or tips. Just buy the bags from the real LV shops. I would never buy something worth hundreds of pounds from non-reputable shops.

mp arthur, sadly, many now days, don't care for the quality of newer LV products and there's been many complaints about it. They would prefer to buy a well made pre owned LV, because they know they are getting better quality, so videos like these are very helpful for people who demand superior quality.

Fabulous video... I figured - id have heard everything you've said. However you really taught me things idk and I own several of these bags..😂😂😂😂 Everything you said about the semitry idk and found it soo fascinating. I knew in the 80s? They redid the monogram and made the 1 line always end on the same. However idk the diagnol thing would end on same.😍 But, I noticed my bags all line up exatly like you mentioned even on the zipper like you also mentioned. Idk any of this info..lol Great video. Very informative. I think lv bags are soo addictive. The leather is soo amazing and 1 of a kind. They've stepped up the game on the reps, so you can by EXACT rep now if you're willing to pay more. In addition, I've noticed not a LOT of the LV bags aren't the same and from one youtube video to another all these same authentic bags have had differences and imperfections. So unless you're all in someone's face measuring and stitch counting then? Anyone this close up on you needs to be slapped lol. Who even pays THAT much attention to someone else's bag? For a speedy 25 without a cross body strap in canvas the cheapest bag is £685. If you get leather, go up a size or get a cross body (ie. a speedy B) the price goes up x

On the canvas, the canvas feels thinner and has a popping sound when you touch it on the real bags. The fake ones have thicker canvas that feels heavy plastic. You will know by the feel of the canvas.

I don’t agree totally n never purchased a replica but these fashion houses make it impossible for those who spend 5K - 10K plus & even buy a bag without waiting for item because it’s sold out n frankly after buying originals for 30 plus years - the quality of originals have suffered n don’t look at good. After spending 6500 on an original I feel robbed as my earlier originals were made much better - so don’t feel bad if you end up with one ...! The designer houses have to up their quality if they are charging those big bucks..! My earlier bags from 1980 to 1999 are made absolutely with the utmost quality..! Thx
