A lot of people who would usually strictly buy authentic say they’re starting to get into reps because LV quality is starting to get worse but the prices are continuing to increase. I seen someone do a comparison on a rep and auth NF bought and used for the same amount of time and the auth was wrinkling more than the rep.

I love that you don’t judge the people that buy fakes. I find people that claimed to be appalled about factories in China to be hypocritical . Those are the same people that have an iPhone, iPad, Galaxy phone ext. and won’t think twice about the parts that are made in factories in China among many other goods that we all enjoy. Hey I bought a speedy 25 in store and 6 months later I was watching your video and panicked because you said about the symmetry at both sides of the zip. Mines isn’t completely symmetrical I went back to Louis Vuitton and they sent it to France for it to be checked as I wasn’t happy at all. The head of quality control sent me a letter to say that there’s nothing wrong with my bag, it’s a hand stitched piece and it doesn’t necessarily have to completely match x x

As a Singaporean born and bred, I appreciate your efforts to investigate Aupen's true manufacturing origins. While I can't be 100% sure, I'm fairly certain that their bags are not made in Singapore. Your research is correct: the standard of living here is high, and it's difficult to produce and sell leather bags at this price. If you look at *unidups* (a popular local leather brand), their bags are priced similarly - and are made in a factory in Guangzhou, China, as shown in their product listing.

Great video! I too am an LV collector, and like yourself, I love the quality, pristine detail, and long term wearability. My first messenger was purchased in 2003, the Bosphore PM and it's still going strong in 2019 and looking beautiful. Also if you apply a tiny bit of chapstick or zipper wax/candle wax onto the zipper while it is closed. It will make the zipper work waaay better. 😉 I put chapstick on all my zippers. It makes them work phenomal..

On the canvas, the canvas feels thinner and has a popping sound when you touch it on the real bags. The fake ones have thicker canvas that feels heavy plastic. You will know by the feel of the canvas.

I don’t agree totally n never purchased a replica but these fashion houses make it impossible for those who spend 5K - 10K plus & even buy a bag without waiting for item because it’s sold out n frankly after buying originals for 30 plus years - the quality of originals have suffered n don’t look at good. After spending 6500 on an original I feel robbed as my earlier originals were made much better - so don’t feel bad if you end up with one ...! The designer houses have to up their quality if they are charging those big bucks..! My earlier bags from 1980 to 1999 are made absolutely with the utmost quality..! Thx

I have serious issues with people knocking fakes so you are a breath of fresh air. I have just watched another person authenticating a bag and she says they have 5 stitches across the handle area, where you show 4 and they almost the same style, which is correct? The code, does it refer to weeks and year or months and year both can not be right? I've seen both being referred to in various videos.

Thank you for the great tips. And what a relaxed view on counterfits, I do like that. But at the same time, fakes don't come from nowhere. I kind of wish people made decisions from a more informed point of view I guess, that giving money to fake business might mean you give money to illegal business that do more illegal stuff than simply bags. I'd hate to think any of my consumer money ending up supporting trafficking etc. Of course, it's almost impossible to make sure you're an ethical consumer, but we can try. And of course people might not be able to afford the big brands (like me, hey), and not wanting to get a decent quality non-brand bag etc. But I think people should get fake things knowing in the back of their minds what kind of businesses they might be supporting, at least.

There is indeed a great deal wrong with buying counterfeit bags. The money made from them goes to support human trafficking, illegal drug trade, terrorism etc. and as you can probably guess, an illegal operation has zero regulation about the working conditions of those making them and henceforth, they are often women and children basically working as slaves. Buying a replica bag is simply never ok and it is illegal in both the US and the UK. I strongly agree with the comment that says please do not to use your influence to support this illegal activity.

Let's be honest here. Whilst all the above should be considered as it is a CRIME to buy counterfeits I do believe that most who are against fakes are just annoyed because it takes away from the idea of "exclusivity" which is just elitist. It's ironic how people get so heated when it comes to fakes but readily wear and buy into major companies that use sweat shops because it's the "real" deal, or wear makeup that is used and tested on animals. Wear clothes modelled on very young girls that are continuously harassed and sexualised in their industry. Morals are morals. Sorry but You can't pick and choose, maybe those kind of comments could be taken more seriously if people cared more about the world than their status. Whilst I myself am guilty of buying into big brands I do believe there's a bigger underlying social issue here that we choose to ignore. Please don't take this as a hate comment ❤️ but I sincerely believe we need to see an even bigger picture and what is really wrong with buying into SOME big brands.

Wow! I am so happy that I watch this before committing to buy from a seller in ebay and upon checking, hers was fake because I count the stitching of the handle just what you mentioned. Omg! There are a lot of fakes out there... also I went to Louis Vuitton’s website and the same number of stitching in there speedy 30.. thank you for this video!🙏🏻 I would have waste my money. I dunno, I really love my Ainifeel Garden Party knockoffs from Amazon. I have 5 and just don't think the price Hermés charges for an authentic Garden Party is worth it to ME. I use my fakes for everyday and save my Birkin 35 for special outings when I don't want to be seen with a fake. No one at the grocery store knows a Garden party from a grocery sack.....which btw, I actually have carried as my purse, back in the day. At some events I attend everyone has authentic designer bags.....so naturally a Birkin trumps all other bags in the room. I know.....so shallow of me. :)

Hi Emma I recently bought a few bags from the LV website and when I collected them from the Bond Street store, all the items came in beautiful packaging but the receipts are a white sheet of paper. Online orders do not come with the nice yellow thick LV headed paper. I was so disappointed and complained to LV head office who confirmed that online orders all come like this!! I’m now hesitant to order from them online because of this. Not impressed considering how much the bags I bought cost!

I've heard this being discussed somewhere before.... I've bought 3-4 items online before and mine did actually come with the yellow paper but maybe its changed since then- that being said I bought my mum a mini pochette for Christmas and again it did come with the yellow paper. I don't particularly like buying online as I love the in-store experience but every so often for difficult to get pieces or convenience I do use it. Its so strange. I don't find LV very consistent in many ways but when you pay a premium price you do expect everything to be spot on. This is such a shame. Good on you for querying this xx

Emma Anders I’m glad you got your letterhead receipts, I was back and forth with emails to LV but they would not budge. All the orders I placed (separately) came with white paper. I’m not impressed and definitely won’t order online again especially knowing you received the proper hard copies 🙁 as much as I love LV I’m not impressed with the inconsistencies as you say. It’s mainly the canvas pieces I struggle to find in store, but having purchased 3 speedys, the Alma PM in DE, two vernis Alma BBs and the vernis cles, I can safely say, for now I’m done 😬 hello ban island 🌴 . i purchased a fake LV from ebay with real packaging one year for Christmas. It was the patent leather candy apple red Alma MM (or the largest size). It was sold out everywhere and my girlfriend at the time really wanted it. I didn't know anything about handbags and I saw it on ebay with the brown packaging as I already had belts, travel case etc during that time and all had the thick brown case. I actually spend $300+ more than the price just to get the exclusive bag/color combo.
