1. never bet "to see where you're at". either bet to realize value of your equity or for denial of opponent's equity. 2. you can't tell he doesn't have QX, unless you have history. I would value-own you with this sort of play when holding QX in position over you. 3. the river bet is atrocious. why so large? either check to induce a bluff which you can call for value, or bet small and hope worse pairs and A-high calls, for value.

Play enough live poker and you most certainly can tell, with some people, what they have just by looking at them. You absolutely can bet to "see where you're at" - there's just a little more that goes into it than thinking "hm I guess i'll bet to see where I'm at"

Raising middle pair on the flop is realizing value and sizing your opponents range at the same time. Everyone plays better in youtube comments but I remind you you cant see other people's cards in an actual game. If you were the villain of the video here and you have say K5 of clubs for all you know he could be c betting with a KQ AQ JQ JJ any misguided raise can easily lead you into dangerous pot odds and folding might deprive you of making your flush draw so the best option was to call.

Cbet is a lil spewy, if not check then make same bet of 20, not overbet of $50. 20 will let you " see where youre at" just the same, save 30 bucks. Or you could just check to see where youre at as well, save even more. The tell is pretty solid though, it conveys the villain is halfway to mucking his hand but wants to see at least one more card

Honestly played it perfectly till the river imo. I just don’t see anyone re raising into a smallish pot with a double paired board to try to bluff you off your hand and if he does ik your clinching your butts on a “miss read” best idea is to check river hope he leads out and you get a little more worst case he surrenders and checks but you still out played him:) anyways just my opinion that’s what makes poker fun everyone has a different perspective on every sisutation

@@TheCasinoKing Idc what he had. You played poorly. No Q or better in the history of hands would not bet $50 into $40 on the flop. It screams bet big hoping they fold AKA very weak hand. Your turn bet was pretty decent, but your read is he’s on a draw (and I think your read is right) so if he’s on a draw and all draws missed on the river. Betting into a missed draw makes no sense. The only hand that calls is some weird slow played hand or rivered hand. So if he has nothing and won’t call any bet the best play for you to make is giving him the opportunity to bluff at the pot which can only happen if you check on the river. What you say in the video versus what you should actually do is ridiculous. Hope you study more though and wish you the best!

Sorry mate but two things. First off, if you’re playing with somewhat experienced players, they often do stuff like that to make you think it’s a tell. Like picking up their cards ready to fold before it’s their time to act to seem weak but end up calling etc. If you believe he had a flush draw it would make absolute 0 sense to bet the river? There is value only show down value, and he is likely to bluff on a double paried board.. like sorry but this isnt a river bet that ever makes sense

This is how you WASTE a tell you've spotted. If you KNOW the hand your opponent has and they've missed YOU MUST CHECK to give them the opportunity to bluff. You can't steam roll them with your river bet. You know the hand, you know they missed so the ONLY way they can win the hand is via bluff. Get better with extracting value in that situation.
