You don't really have to hate about being an INTP, instead, you should enjoy being an INTP. because INTPs are quite rare. Instead of hating what you are, you should just try to fix what you don't like. If someone thinks you're depressed or something like that, get your message across. Say stuff like this: _"Do you really think I have depression or something like that? Cause I must tell you, that is not the case and I feel quite uncomfortable when you ask me this kind of question."_

GeekingOut Ben An INTP has a cognitive function called extroverted intuition--it helps them explore the world around them. There is a lot you can learn from a book but there are intellectual interests elsewhere too. But by no means you are a loser. I suspect they have weaknesses that you don't have, perhaps they are far less reflective. They are trying to understand you only from their point of view, treating you as an extrovert when you are not. So their conclusion is incorrect.

My dressing started as a way to minimize outside contact by blending in. Then it evolved into an creative outlet and I started dressing in vintage styles (bowties, suspenders, derby hats, fedora hats, etc), then to loud expressive colors, and now, I don't even have a name for it, just my style. I only dress up on rare occasions of socializing with friends... I do have the fro though, with the bread. Haven't been to the barber in like 5 month. No cut, trim, shave, shape up, or anything. It goes with the style lol. See the key to create you own space of existance. It's hard to say something is right or wrong when it's unfamiliar nature exceed ones comprehension. That way even the judgmental people are too afraid to express their opinions out of fear that it may expose their ignorance that they might not be up on "all" the latest fashion. Muhahahaha 😈... Collar dressing shirts have to be peculiar though, dislike the common types. •Not fro hair but curly wavy sponge like... course~ • My replies mostly are, "hmmm, yeah, you already know what to do about it, well..."/nothing •Learning how to speak in louder tone~ •I call the subjects dissects, the spider web method~ If someone really wanted to know something would have to explain things with a white board and marker. Though try then I end up stuttering because feel a bit pressure to explain/reply things xD •Watching emotional films with others " *Don't you dare* " Watching films alone *Cries, laugh, questions the characters in voice as if they could hear me.* lol •People that don't know me also think I'm so demanding, or if I am mad. I suggest you look at the profiles fro INTJ and INTP, then look at their "cognitive functions" and see which rings most true to you.

INTP female here. I never cared what my clothes look like, usually nothing that would draw attention. I wear clothes until the holes in them get so big they become indecent or won't hold up another wash. If I have to be at an important event or work then I'll wear something a bit nicer. My favorite shirt has a stain on it, is ten years old, and I still wear it everywhere. With my hair, I got lucky and have good hair. If I have a good haircut, I don't even have brush it. I just wash and go, happily. But I was the odd girl when in the 80's I didn't do my hair a mile high with a gallon of hairspray. What's makeup? I hate the stuff. I watch too many emotional shows/movies with my kids, so I've more used to being around people watching emotional movies and shows. But what I do like watching alone are movies that are surreal in nature (like Tale of Tales). I guess mostly so my infp daughter (she's not quiet at home, lol) won't stop to talk about things (Which is fine most of the time, but not when I want to concentrate on movie.) and my grown istj son, who would see such movies as "silly" and due to his practical nature, doesn't quite appreciate surrealism.

Exactly. Most of the time I like to dress relaxed, but once in a while I like to dress nice too but because i like it. I don't dress to impress. I could also go the goofy joke route, also. I think the whole dress thing and hygiene is very stereotypical. I'd say probably true in *most* cases, but, people should also remember we are individuals with different interests and different life circumstances/problems that could give reason to minor differences.

Types are archetypes; however, people are not. If you want to know if someone is an INTP then talk to them. When you are attempting to speak to them if they politely yet strongly resist your advancement until you mention an intellectually arousing topic then you may very well be speaking with an INTP, however, since INTPS are quite private, internal, subjective, and idiosyncratic beings you will most likely only know for certain if you're dealing with an INTP if they one: tell you they're an INTP, or two: you engage in meaningful dialogue with them, and observe their models, logic, and reasoning. In addition, I thoroughly understand carnal desires, and know exactly what I want to do with a women, and why I want to.

@JosephRDBenjamin8 жыл бұрын
Chameleon mode takes a huge toll on me personally. After a while, if Im not careful, I'll believe I am just as I pretend to be until someone or something knocks me out of the illusion. This causes a massive surge of anxiety and depression that may last for a very long time... This has always been followed by acceptance, reassessment and improvement. I also question what damage my high anxiety level does to my mind and body, what may happen if I continue to grow in such a way. I will die someday regardless of my mental and physical management, so why not let go like others tell me, why not just be happy. Well... I've tried that and for me that amounts to a life of getting high and making decisions I regret. I want to be better than everyone at everything to be honest, but I truly have limits that make such a simple notion of superiority impossibe. My ego has been a massive issue all my life. I have trouble forgiving myself and my inadiqucy. I am truly haunted by the past and instead of being destroyed by it I want to change what I hate about myself. Unfortunately the daunting task of self evaluation takes my thinking patterns into dark territory. I need other people and new experiences to escape from myself. Ugh. Why did I type so much and why am I compelled to keep going? I think this is good for me. Peace and love to you.

well as an intp who can't do the eyebrow raise... it's frustrating. whenever i want to do that i just furrow my eyebrows and raise them, in an attempt to raise just one. is there some kind of muscular differences between those who can raise one eyebrow and those who can't? there probably is. i suppose it could be a dysfunction or something that's hereditary.. as far as i know none of my relatives can raise their eyebrows. also, any other intp find themselves talking to themself about any given topic

To me the best technology is the Internet because I spend all day long if I could asking questions about many subjects on my galaxy note 4 and this is how I found out why I'm so wierd through an Internet search of the 16 personality traits . It was a relief to find out there are others that have my same " disability ". . Actually it's a blessing and a curse !

The fashion thing is really interesting. I think “if you are what you wear you better dress for the part that you want” As an INTP I really love clothes and put a conscious effort into the way I dress (if I’m gong out, if not couldn’t care less) I love that I can wear something that truly feels like me almost an extension of myself but not quite. When I wear an outfit like this I feel myself aligning with my “truth” whatever that is. Just like someone can say or live their truth they can wear it and I think that’s Pretty damn cool 😎 oh and I love analysing outfits like what does this piece convey etc. etc. Edit: but I also love trolling ppl with my clothes neon animal print denim on denim whatever annoys you I’ll wear it just to annoy 😆

You talked about how some INTP's exhibit a lot of Ne. I'm an INTP and I definitely show my fair share of extroversion, my friends are surprised that I'm an introvert, but I know I am INTP. However, whenever I use Ne, it feels as if I'm an ENTP. I create arguments and often use Ne to invent new art. I've been thinking a lot about it, and it seems to me that maybe the type that shares all the cognitive functions could be some sort of 'sidekick' type, where the other personality shows. For an INTP it would be an ENTP, for an INTJ, an ENTJ, and so on. Just pondering, let me know what you think!

It's mind-blowing how accurate this all is. Wow. I'm definitely the chill/relaxed/laid back type that is willing to explore things. I had kids at my school that looking back on it now were definitely INTPs but the more judgemental type that would do that exact eyebrow thing hahahaha. I've had countless times where people tell me in an astonished tone how unbelievably chill I am lol. I know I'm tooting my own horn but it's just to demonstrate how accurate this is. And I'm almost never satisfied to just leave something like an experience to other people's word. I just have to try it myself. Whether that be travel, speaking foreign languages, psychedelics etc...I definitely have the drooped eyes you were talking about, And the whole idea that INTPs don't really dress up at all, unless it's for a joke describes me to a tee. And ya the only time I dressed to stand out was when I was in school I would dress up in ridiculous checkered suits and all sorts of stuff like that just to put a smile on people's faces. As an INTP, can't relate to the dressing and hygiene thing. Get a lot of compliments because of my fashion sense but it's repetitive. Like I were the same thing all the time (a bit like Steve jobs) even tho I have 2 of many tops and pants. The colors of my clothes are mostly black. If I'm feeling for variation I wear something navy or off white with the black. That's as exciting as it gets but I'm kind of too lazy to put any thought on what to wear in the morning. Have been doing so since I was really young so can't bother what people think.

@TypeTipsLeonTsao9 жыл бұрын
André José Holguín Yeah I am thinking about doing one on INFJs. I find in general it is hard for INFJs to hide how they feel. Are you talking about facial expressions or what you say. Sometimes when INFJs talk they can actually be a bit detached. It is true tho INFJs can come off as cold, but they usually are expressive.
@andrejoseholguin52879 жыл бұрын
Type Tips I think I'm better than the typical INFJ in being able to hide his true feelings (but I believe it's easier for someone to detect whether or not I'm comfortable, or trying to "get out" of something). But yes, you could say I'm more so talking about facial expression (my face can be very blank to uninviting unless I'm speaking with someone). Someone once told me NF types have a lot of trouble coming to understand themselves/if they've found their right type, etc.
