2002 on emerald does not mean that it's a fake. Although the game did come out in 2004, a lot of original copies say 2002. My guess is that that's the year the boards were manufactured. It's essentially the same hardware as ruby and sapphire after all. You gave me a heart attack bro.

my emerald also says 2002, it has a battery and seems legit in every other way as well. (got it in 2016)

It's good that more people are being educated on this, this kind of in depth look is needed especially now. While I do not use repros I can understand there appeal to budget minded players. *That said be mindful that these reproduction carts are prone to corrupting your saves and in some rare cases have voltage spikes that can cause major damage to your handheld* PS All legitimate GameBoy Advance carts have a code stamp on them not just Pokemon Games

I've been looking around and having found any recent information on this so I figured I'd ask you since you're so knowledgeable about fakes. Have people begun to make counterfeit 3ds games? I want to get X and Alpha Sapphire but I'm nervous about putting my money on the line. Are 3ds games still safe

There are counterfeits for games up until the switch, shich doesn't have any yet, but, the games you are tryna get ho for at least like, 30 dollars

My emerald and my leafgreen both say 2002 but i purchased them new from gamestop when they released. my uncle gave me his firered and doesn't have a date at all. Besides that everything matches up with what you said in the video.

If you got the games when they were originally released, they are authentic. This is more about seeing if pre-owned games are authentic or if they are counterfeits

@@PokeObsession I figured as much. I was just having a small crisis when looking for a Pokémon Sapphire game. it makes it hard to figure out what is real and what is fake when my games show the contrary. It's all about that Nintendo level quality that knock offs can't copy.

Your heartgold and soulsilver video helped me to prove my soulsilver wasn't fake! I am so thankful! But I don't know if it happens the same with my heartgold. I checked it and everything seemed ok but then I played it and after 3 h in the middle of a battle the screen froze and I had to exit the game. Do you think it is fake? I know it is not the appropiate video, but I need help. The most important question is: if it is fake, will it damage my soulsilver's game or my 3ds?

For me, when I originally bought Pokemon White, it froze like 30minutes into playing, but mine is a legit copy. So, it may just be a little glitch with the cartridge or the ds/3ds itself

So I just looked at my Pokemon Emerald and it has a printed date of 2002 on it. My memory is hazy so I'm not sure if I transferred my pokemon from Ruby and/or Emerald, but I am pretty certain I moved pokemon from Emerald up to I supposed Pokemon Home now. My Gen 4 games (Pl and SS) are both before you get to the Pal Park so I can't exactly test if I can transfer pokemon at this moment, but I've also checked other videos and they show that 2002 year on Emerald is legit.
