How to spray Mazda 41v Soul Red Crystal (tri coat/candy paint)

Instead of using the solvent blender on sealer edges I like to put a clear base coat blender (colorless base coat) over the entire panels before color. It’s like putting a solid down first and it exposes any flaws or burns you may need to address before clear.

i do the same but surprised you didnt blend into the near side wing (fender ) as the bumper touches that panel so colour will be different

I just did this color on a Mazda CX-5. Had to do every panel except the lift gate and rear bumper. It turned out beautiful. Used EHP with EC530 clear.

I don’t like using a wet bed with glasurit, it never seems to work out how I want it too. When I was shooting ehp i ALWAYS used it! But I still used the solvent to melt the sealer edge before clear base. I miss spraying ppg lol this is a beautiful color though no doubt!

Do you use the GoPro app to download everything to the app and then to your iphone or do you use sd card adapter to import everything to your iPhone to not lose quality? How do you do it bro .tia

Great work Eric! Premium results. The only difference would be; wouldn’t use sealer and blender on the fender and hood, would fix burn- thru’s before. Have gotten into big problems when applying clear and “blending solvent” re- flowing especially on lighter colors… and would put the plug into the hole on the bumper before painting…(my opinion)

As long as the this blender is flashed out I’ve never had an issue with it, I have seen that issue before with other blenders for sure! This was a new raw bumper so I don’t like to have the plug in there, will almost always peel back behind the plug!

Love that color when I first seen it come out" very reminiscent of the old candy apple red" back in the day chroma base , dust the metallic " no tiger stripe , lite first candy coat , flash" slightly wetter 2nd ,for coverage , the same for the third where some will hammer it" the same for 2,3 coats of clear" last coat wet" looks so good " no wet sand / buff when lucky non customer cars , ( whole sale rides ) no lumpy metallic, definitely have to take your time and finesse that color " great job " rad guns help to make all the difference and a good booth and lighting love to do my tacoma instead of Barcelona

I just sprayed GMC version of the same color and it's tricky but if you have enough room for the two coats if mid it blends good, But was in a panic when I put the first coat of base and thought it was the wrong color.

What a great looking job! I love these multicolor paints but apparently they can be a pain to work with. I have a 2017 Miata MX-5 with paint code 41V as listed on the door sticker. I have a couple of small dings, scratches and chips I'm looking to touch up, but definitely don't need to spray the whole thing again. Every review or info I have about 41V touch up paints or kits say they all suck. Seriously, I've yet to find anything helpful for info and I fear I just have to drive around with these dings and scratches forever.... Any suggestions on how to do a Touch Up for a Soul Red Tricoat 41V paint?

Thank you for watching! And as far as touch ups go I don’t recommend doing it. I would go to a reputable body shop near you and ask them for an estimate on fixing your paint!

46V is the Soul Red Crystal. 41V is the less candy colour..

I am having a bit of a problem with this paint. I am trying to fix a small dent in the front bumper. When I spay it on it comes out so light you can't see it and when I finally get enough paint on the bumper it looks almost black. I am using a small airbrush to apply the paint. Do I need a larger gun? or is there something else I am missing?

Sealer can be painted over primer u gotta sand it down. Also sealer is good for these Tri coats as u don't want bleed through

It's a lot of work to do this finish right but there's no better red on ANY production vehicle in the modern age unless you're talking about supercars costing 400,000 dollars or more before customizations.
