I used to hate all that gear and s*** and I can only bench maybe 350 and squat 450 but I lifted with powerlifters sometimes and I always would ask how much more can you lift with those things and they would tell me Well the most you could get us two hundred pounds out of a benching shirt and I would ask why why not just do without it so you know who's the strongest I would ask it all the time they kind of thought it was funny and laughed and they wanted to get me a t-shirt that said Raw on it because I was kind of outspoken about lifting raw it seems silly to me it's okay to use the weight belt once in awhile squatting heavy but the benching shirts and squatting gear is just crazy silliness when are they going to make the gear spring-loaded

@@jasoncoe4706 squat can be tricky when starting because until the weight gets heavy enough, your combined center of mass (the barbell+your center of mass) will be somewhere between your COM and the barbell weight. since the most effective lift occurs when the combined COM is over the midfoot line, the optimal form shifts a bit with each weight increase until it's heavy enough to shift the CCOM under the barbell. are you doing high or low bar squats? what kind of shoes are you wearing?

The tip about full foot pressure makes a lot of sense. I’ve never heard that until now. It’s always been heel drive. Which now that I think of it, makes sense that it would push your weight forward. I’m going to try this technique

I was fully expecting to come to this video and see him squatting ass to grass, but he doe this perfectly just like the title says. Very nice. I'm working on getting comfortable just moving over 500lbs to 90 then I need to get up to a little over 675lbs to 90 so I can focus on depth. Very cool to see a big lift made to look easy just because of proper form.

I just want to get on here and say that all the negative comments about this man are insane he makes those reps look easy with 800+ on the bar even if he weighs 400lbs he’s literally squatting double his body weight with no support and that’s nothing short of impressive and I have nothing but respect for him
