I thought the video angle was spot on. I could see everthing and your presentation is excellent. I'm new to scrolling and found your tutorials most enjoyable. The only other person I enjoy watching is Moustache Mike, reminds me of my Grandpa !!

I agree with most of what you have to say. I used to do a lot of custom cutting often with orders for 1000 pieces at a time. I found that it was more time efficient to cut a stack of no more than 4 at a time of 1/8". It was easier on blades and quicker as the thicker stacks slowed down the cutting.
@ScrollSawCorner4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and the feedback, Bob. I normally don't go more than 4 layers on 1/8", either. I wanted to make 72 of these and I felt the balance of cutting 2 stacks of 6 was going to be a little faster than 3 stacks of 4. Must be some impatience still cropping up!

Great information. How do you finish the ornaments?
@ScrollSawCorner3 жыл бұрын
These I just left raw because of the volume I was doing. I've seen people keep a tray of oil and dip them before hanging to dry. Also a rack system and spray.

Nicely done! Question: why did you use the Pegas skipped tooth blades over the modified geometry blades? Thanks!
@ScrollSawCorner4 жыл бұрын
I do generally prefer the MGT or olson PGT but I also want to use up what I have. In this case I used the skip tooth since I had them leftover from a previous video

Is your scroll saw tilted so the bed is angled from front to back with the front being lower than the rear of the bed? Sorry for the long run on sentence. 😂
@ScrollSawCorner2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is, I have the back raised about 3 or 4 inches. I think I measured it at 8 degrees

@@ScrollSawCorner do you find its helpful to see the work piece better? What’s the thought process here? Thx again!

@BillKillillay I think it helps with neck strain from not having to look over the table quite as much. Thanks for watching!

My only critique is at the beginning and end when you are talking to the camera it seems you are nervous or uncomfortable a way to improve skills like this is to have someone hold the camera and talk directly to them if you are uncomfortable talking to a camera. I loved the vid it was extremely helpful
@ScrollSawCorner4 жыл бұрын
That's fair. I don't feel particularly nervous or uncomfortable but I should probably plan out what I'm going to say more than just winging it. Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for the feedback!

I found it by searching 2020 ornament online. I am not sure who originally designed it. There seem to be a lot of variations out there.
