How to start a chainsaw. This is the way I start a chainsaw. This one is a Stihl MS311. Its not the only way to start a chains saw bet I recon its the best most efficient and safest way.

I've only started many saws thousands of times by the drop method There is no danger. what are you talking about? They don't magically jump up and hit you in the face.. Australian? Must be one of those metric saws. LOL

​@@robinferris7013Videos on how to start a chainsaw are available all over the world. Stihl himself shows it in videos, always on the floor with his foot. The saws have exactly the shape so that a shoe fits in there. Of course you can also take the saw between your legs and start it... But it's safe on the ground. It's all about this . You can do it however you want. But don't show it to a beginner, it's not exemplary.

Only an amateur starts any saw standing on it, try that in a tree as a climber.

An amateur starts the chainsaw differently. al is shown in the video. Of course you can't do this in a tree, but you can do it on the ground. We're not Rambo, safety comes first. Everything else is posturing.

All you have to do is set the chain brake before you start the saw and you still won't have to stand on it. Get yourself a battery saw
