Hi, I wanted to ask what the compression valve was for. Does we have to pull it while pushing the kart or pull it before and then push ?

An engine wants compression to work. That button open de combustion chamber so that you have no compression. So you need to push it when pushing the kart and once you get speed enough to make it burn you leave the valve to close.

How do you kill the engine? Just by applying brakes, or is that bad for the engine?

I'll take the weight penalty with a push button. Seriously? My back hurt just watching. Maybe I'm too old. I'm thinking about putting a push starter on my 125cr shifter engine. They make a really cool new one that fits like stock and is getting great reviews.

Honestly, it's looks pretty stupid having to push start the karts. Especially since the method of starting the engine has no technical relationship to the method of power transfer to the rear axle. Forcing the karts to be push start just because they are direct drive makes no sense at all.

There is no clutch, I don't understand what you're saying. Direct drives are always wayyy better for driving as you can using engine braking and the engine has a lot more torque allowing you to complete destroy a clutch cart

Lack of shifting means the final drive ratio is almost always wrong for the current speed. "you can using engine braking": Dumb and misleading. A gearbox also permits engine braking except you can choose the best gear for the braking to be the most effective. "the engine has a lot more torque": Absurdly false. A gearbox does not reduce torque, it allows more torque because of the lower gears. "complete destroy a clutch cart": Absurdly false. Clutches come in all sizes. The right size clutch will last as long as you choose it to. "There is no clutch": This is the only thing you said that is actually true. But only for these difficult to manage bare-bones karts.

@@nowheretosit I'm talking about compared to a rotex or new iame motors that have a clutch but don't have gears. It sucks cause it u brake to hard it kills the engine and it has a longer time picking up speed.
