Skittle, I started collecting pops February 2018, when I purchased a Stormtrooper at a store closing record place for $4.00. I looked at it, and that got me hooked in collecting Funko. I was buying everything in sight. On several occasions, I purchased the same pops by accident, like the Beast, Daniel Larusso Cobra Kai, and Billy Idol. It gets crazy. I now have about 250 pops. I now pace myself, due to lack of space and it being very costly. I buy maybe two to three pops a month. I collect Marvel(mainly Spider-Man), DC(mainly Batman and the Joker) Star Wars, rock icons, certain TV shows and movies( that I like)and ad icons.

I'm a new funko pop collector and this really helps me a lot! Especially the tip that says to budget and pace myself. I will now save few bucks then once I have enough that's the time I will buy it. I’d also start off maybe buying your favorite character(my first PoP was actually a Captain America I bought for one of my high school teachers but she wasn’t there the day I was going to give it to her so I kept it)one of my favorite PoPs is the Frost Giant Loki because I love Loki,so my advice is maybe start with your favorite character from whatever fandom and work up from there.

What happens is as an adult you start out saying they look dumb and what would you do with them anyway, what a waste of money. Then you see one that means something to you. Maybe it’s your favorite character or it’s from a movie you have fond memories of. There may be a bit of nostalgia or laughter. It makes you smile. So you buy it. Then you start wondering if they make others that resonate with you, and before you know it you’re going to local comic cons looking for that particular one and deciding which ones to choose from your limited budget.

I’ve been collecting since mid March, love one piece so I’m collecting one piece pops, I’ve got about 25-27 pops, got a couple 6 inch variants, the most I spent was on caeser clown, I spent $200AUD on a preorder, I live in Australia, so I can’t make it to most conventions where exclusive pops are, and I’m on a really tight budget every fortnight, I’ve only got $622 after everything else, so I find it easy to just buy a few, maybe five or six every month works for me

For shelving, search "muscle rack" at Walmart. They are very adjustable and the best part, No sides! You can see the sides of your pops and any behind another

I have failed at putting a budget, sometimes I just lose control and end up spending all my money on Funkos, but there've been times I've had to cancel orders 'cause I realized it's too much, so far I have 65 funkos in my collection and some 30 on pre orders so maybe I'll make it to end of the year with around 100... i started really collecting last summer, I use to buy funko pops when I was younger and I first bought Ryu and didn't even know what funko pops were I just happen to walk into gamestop and saw something I recognized. then I stopped and got into legos for like a couple of years then I watched MHA & Attack on Titan.
