The first time I tried keto I nearly passed out after three days. I tried again 25 years later and found it really easy. The only difference was, I cut down the carbs for the first two weeks. I didn't go straight into it. I lost about 40lb in 5 months and went from size XL to Medium. My taste buds reset themselves, and I didn't miss the carbs and sugars at all. Hope that helps you guys that are scared to try. No rush. Ease into it.

@@CapricornSeasonx3 - I played a game of golf, and after 16 holes, had a burning desire for carbs and sugar. I was so tired, I could have lain down in the mud and slept. I bought a pack of biscuits on the way home, and ate the lot while driving.

@@kurttrach6078 - When I need to lose some weight, I go back onto it for a month. There is so much information on it, some conflicting, it's hard to recommend anyone. I would suggest watching 'short' youtube vids, and find low carb meals that work for you. Everyone's taste buds are different, so find foods that you really enjoy that are carb free/low.

K Vybz i started in November 2018. I was fat my whole life, because i could’t stand bulling and stres i got bulimia when i was teeneger. I had 85kg when i stoped with compuslive eating and cured bulimia without anyones help( live in a small town and i was to embaressed to say anything) but i started to gain weight like crazy. Got to 116 kg. Keto leterally saved me, it took me some time to get stronger to say no to carbs but i finally feel great after all this time. I know i have a long way in front of me but i don’t feel sad and depresed because the way i look like it was before . Sorry if my English is bad.

I love Keto. I need to stop procrastinating and just fucking go back to it. My busy schedule and tight money is keeping me from taking care of myself. Never felt so horrible in my life. But on Keto, I was so energetic and happy. Depression was gone. Negative mind was gone. I was fucking on fire. I need to get that fire back.

@@patienceo1 What I had done was a mixture of an extreme elimination keto (Beef, salt, water and electrolytes), and a massive amount of cardio (Ran around 70-80 miles a week). Both of these are really all I used to drop my weight. I now use a form of Mediterranean Keto as my daily diet, with a carb cycle (Mediterranean diet with a large amount of starches) when I dip below 170

Samantha Colin i’m 5’10 and started at 175 lbs and went down to 165 lbs in a week. I weighed everyday, while including intermittent fasting and regular exercise. And for your information you lose the most in the first week due to most of it being water weight (as your body starts burning fats instead of carbs) maybe if you do some research you would understand.

@Samantha Colin It's not uncommon to see losses like that in the first week, but the first week only. When you go on keto, you lose quite a lot of water weight initially since it's a natural diuretic. They did not lose 10 lbs. of fat, but were probably holding on to a lot of water.

The first week is the hardest, just get through that part and don’t give up! I’ve been doing lazy keto where I don’t count anything and just eat the suggested foods and cut the bad ones. I’ve been practicing a bit of restraint when eating as well, but not so much that I feel deprived. I don’t work out (no gym here and I’m not one to do it at home). I’m steadily but slowly losing weight anyway. I definitely feel better. I’ve dropped a dress size in three weeks. I no longer get hungry so fast, no longer need to eat breakfast. I’ve realized that when I eat carbs they burn off really fast and cause cravings for more-so they become a self fulfilling prophecy that keeps perpetuating themselves forever. The more you eat-the more you need. And you need to eat them sooner. Eating protein and fat (and veggies on the side) keeps me full longer, so very much longer that I don’t need to eat as frequently or as much. At first giving up breakfast was hard. It took about a week before my body was programmed to not feel hungry at this time of day, and now a few weeks later it doesn’t even occur to me to want it. If I want eggs, I can eat them at lunch or supper time instead. Sometimes breakfast food for supper is fun and makes it easy to throw together a quick meal for the family.

I did this diet last summer for 1 month. I lost 32lbs. And I never counted calories or took any supplements. I drank a ton of water and basically always made sure my body had food. Simple. It's easy people. High fat + medium protein + a ton of water will make sure your body is healthy.

I am going to start this diet TODAY! I want to get back to me and be in good health. I am considered morbidly obese, and started working out 4x a week, cut smoking and drinking and cut pork and sugar from my diet. It’s only been 2 weeks but I’ve seen no results. I've lost over 30lbs in 3 months on Keto, 3 lbs a week with moderate exercise, walking and light weight training! And I'm not hungry! I mostly cut out sugar, salt, and all the potatoes/carbs! I ea between 1500 and 2000 calories a day! I basically changed my lifestyle and it worked! It's not a diet to me, just a new way of living, and eating healthy. Oh and no processed foods! lol. It's easy we can all do it! God bless.

Marwa J Yes, throw away white sugar/brown sugar in the bin. Get stevia, it tastes the same in tea/coffee/shakes/desserts. Don’t ever buy white/brown/multigrain bread it’s all crap. Nowadays, they sell keto friendly protein bread. Try all kinds of eggs for breakfast with keto protein bread. Switch to diet sodas if you drink sodas, you’ll eventually get used to the taste. For staples, replace white/brown rice and try cauliflower rice, just grate a cauli. I make it stir fried with chicken and veg and it’s very filling. For fruits, I eat all kinds of berries. I don’t bother buying other fruits. For desserts, there are easy microwave chocolate cake recipes. It tastes great and healthy too. I ate cheat meals every fortnight, you can easily afford it that’s why I do keto on and off.

Marwa J Throw away all kinds of cereals that you have. It’s just sugary processed crap. Don’t buy juice cartons, flavoured milk. It’s filled with sugar. Basically cut out all sugars, hidden sugars, then slowly reduce other carbs.

13 days in and I’ve gone from 200 to 185, I’m 5’8, 17, and I LIVED to eat. I swear I was just gonna let my self get to 300 lbs cuz I love food, but not only have I lost weight, I’m not as hungry anymore. I can skip breakfast at times surprisingly, and I can eat a small amount and get full where I would have smashed a huge amount and still wanted something sweet after it loll.

We started today and we cooked chicken and added it to a salad with boiled eggs wow it was Fantabulous. Tonight for dinner we had chicken livers with onions and garlic and cabbage fried and rolled in a fried egg roll on a bed of steamed cabbage. Great taste.

Atkins (Keto) set me on the yo yo lifestyle that over 30-40yrs put my weight from 10.4stone to 20stone. I also succumbed to CFS/ME and much later Type 2 Diabetes. Intermittent fasting and low carbs has brought me back to approx 17stone. What a journey. I try to eat all food groups including fruit. I make sure I eat plenty of veg /salads daily. I have limited sugar intake.

Look into the Zone Diet for satiety and balance. Also look into The Root Cause Protocol. Try to eat your ancestral diet with peacefully grazed animals.

I lost 40lbs in 3 months 28 of them was in the first month. In felt awful for 2 wks then I realized I needed electrolytes. Once I started in taking electrolytes, I felt great. I kept this up for 8 months. In total I lost 70lbs.

That's awesome - great job on sticking with it! I wholeheartedly agree that electrolytes are a must. Once you have them, all the keto flu symptoms go away (and for me, I continue to use electrolyte supplements in my water). Keep up the great work 😁

grilled stuffed jalapeño peppers Marinade: 2 cloves garlic, minced 2TBSP wine vinegar 1/3 c olive oil you will need 16 peppers, 4 Oz. cream cheese, 4 Oz goat cheese and 3/4 cup shredded monterey jack cheese and 2 TBSP chopped cilantro you can buy a pepper roaster rack which i have but don't recommend or as I do...lay the peppers on the side length wise and see which way is more flat. cut lengthwise skimming the side/tops off creating a boat-like appearance. Leaving the peppers heads on will keep in the cheese while cooking. Create marinade in a small bowl shallow enough for marinade but big enough for peppers. whisk together minced garlic and vinegar, slowly adding olive oil. place peppers in the glass bowl pouring marinade over, refrigerate 2 hours. Prepare stuffing: in a medium bowl blend and mix together cream cheese, goat cheese monterey jack cheese and cilantro. Place stuffing inside peppers and continue adding until the peppers appear full. try not to overstuff as you will not have enough to go around. Wrap peppers gently and tightly with a full strip bacon, you made place a toothpick through pepper to hold ban only if you feel it necessary. I have become really good and don't need toothpicks anymore. Preheat oven to 400 degrees, bake at 400 for 40 minutes. You may need to adjust your cooking time if you're using gas, always set the timer for 35 minutes and check accordingly. Be careful when removing, bacon grease might pop or splash. cool 5 minutes and enjoy! If you want to try the pepper roaster, it is called Norpro stainless steel/knockdown pepper roaster. But I use a foil lined cookie sheet because the peppers like to lay down while cooking. And I got tired of them always falling over

Eat brown rice, if you eat white rice make sure you clean the rice with warm or cold water until the water becomes clear while draining, only season rice with salt and pepper and eat is small portions (nothing more than the size of a child's palm). When eating potatoes, once again, eat is small portions with seasonings with low sodium, cholesterol, sugar, etc. You can do it, as Queen once said, "don't stop now"

Been on Keto 4 wks under Nutritionist & dietician supervision. Goal not only to lose weight, but more importantly to come off medications such as; thyroid & anti-depressants. Nutritionist explains that if you’re on medication, you are not healthy. Being under doctor of nutrition supervision is the smart way to accomplish one’s goals. Over 10 lbs weight & inflammation lost so far. Very interested in continuing progress.

I ketose more heavily when I donate. I'll never stop donating, this is so awesome. One time, I gave like $30 worth of groceries to the food shelf and had a free day ( lots of sugar n carbs) and when I check my ketosis it wasn't bumped out of ketosis even though it was the day right after my free day. So I kept giving to the food shelf if I started bumping out of ketosis and it worked, all the candy didn't bump me out of ketosis all week. I think it might have constipated me a little cuz my tummy looked a little bigger. Either that or I had more food in my stomach than usual. I will probably try it again to see if I can with out getting constipated. Maybe I gave the wrong foods, I ain't sure but something tells me the Food Shelf needed meats and milks but I wasn't giving those foods.

Hang in there, you'll be stunned at all of the wonderful side effects! I can't sing the praises of Keto enough! I also do Intermittent Fasting (no eating 20 hours, two meals in four hour period). • Reversed Diabetes, off meds • Reversed Fuchs Dystrophy of the Corneas (night blindness) • Triglycerides went from 276 to 83 (normal in four months) • HDL 50s went to 96 • Lowered Cholesterol, got off statins • Neuropathy burning, gone • Food Allergies 38+ years, gone • IBS gone • High WBC & Calcium (years) gone • Kidney Damage Reversed • Asthma, gone • Ulcers gone • Cirrhosis of the liver, gone. • Breathalyzer gone, COPD off my records now • IR .86 • Had been maxed out on Diabetic meds 11 years, got off of them! • I’d stake my life on Keto! Keto is amazing. I lost 40 pounds in two months. I was doing lazy keto however. I kept my carbs at 20 a day....no sweets ..no fried crap.... No sugar.... I did eat fast food like whoppers and stuff but with no bread. I did drink alot of diet drinks like diet sodas and sparkling waters, but I drank a gallon of water a day. Kept up with my electrolytes and vitamins. I took ketones as well. It was easy and fun but I started eating bread again and now I'm eating candy and sweets like crazy and gained back 10 pounds. When I was on keto, my heart was beating really hard and I was having AFIB.... But when I got off keto, my heart stopped doing that . Idk why, but keto gets a 9/10 for me! Great diet to drop weight and drop it pretty substantially. I'm sure lazy keto was the cause of my heart palpitations because I didn't do strict keto which is way healthier!

Glad you did well with it in terms of weight loss. The heart rate could also be from dehydration and/or an imbalance of electrolytes. If you weren't eating many vegetables and don't drink ~a gallon of water per day, it would likely be from that.

I just started a few days ago. I'm mostly eating for a meal 2 fried eggs, broccoli, and green tea with stevia to replace the brown sugar and honey I use to put in it. I also eat 4 blueberries with half an avocado 1 or 2 times a day. I already feel less bloated than a few days ago and lost 3lbs in a few days, but that's probably just mostly water weight. This gut I got due to my poor eating habits during lockdown is going to go!

I’ve been on and off lazy keto for a couple of months but I’ve been a little more strict for bout a month so far I’ve just 25lbs. My sister lost 60+ on lazy keto. Lazy keto means we don’t track our carbs we just know to avoid bread white foods and sugars.

For me i did a diet two years back. My meals were: 2 eggs with no bread. 7pm one bread with kabab or salmon and chicken with no bread. Pepsi , chips and sweets nit change. Three days lifting weights. Lost 25lbs in 1.5 months. But that because my family were out of the state for few months so no one cook for me :D. Back to same weight when my wife back. The secret is, send your wife away for few months :D

0:48 it's just moderate protein not also low protein. 3:43 the default should be 35% protein after which you can increase it more depending on your needs

Keto is low-to-moderate protein depending on how you define low or moderate. Generally speaking, keto is 70% fat, 25% protein, 5% carbs. If you are active, or have lower body fat % then yes, your protein levels are going to change. Our keto calculator does all of these calculations as well, but this video is just going over the bare basics for someone that is brand new to keto.

I’m just on a 1200 calories a day diet. I probably don’t get all my nutrients but I’ve lost 2 stone over 2 months - this is with boxing once a week (cardio) and gym twice (80% muscle 20% cardio)

I did Keto and OMAD for 6 months and lost 60 pounds. It was amazing progress. But I gained it all back and way more. For me it wasn't a sustainable diet probably cus of the fasting but im starting it again now 🤷‍♀️

A good diet is one that's sustainable for you. If the fasting aspect was too much, I agree you shouldn't do it. Fasting works for some people and not for others - you can still achieve long-term weight loss results and health with a keto diet alone. Good luck with it this time around!

I’m definitely trying this. Worked out for the last month, lost only 2lbs But I was eating Rice, Yogurt, Fruits ect... explains why I barley lost anything. Anywho new month ahead.

I have type 1 diabetes, and eat low carb to help control my blood sugar. I eat 30 grams of carbs a day, but eat high protein, and whatever fat comes with that. I’m still in ketosis, even with high protein. :)

@chicken nuggets No rice no bread no pasta no junkfoods and softdrinks. Only pork chicken fish and veges. And water lemon and ginger early morning and before sleeping. Exercise everyday 30 mins for tummy and legs and arms to prevent skin sagging.

@chicken nuggets just remember eat when hungry and stop when full. Most of the time my portion of protein is a fist of my hand and half fist for the veges. I usually take 16:8 fasting 2x a week for faster metabolism

I’ve done keto for a month and I’m never doing it again, no carbs for a month was hell and it was such an effort to make meals without carbs that I wouldn’t get sick of, the mental part was so hard

I think it gets easier as you do it. You learn a lot more about what ingredients to use and once you have that as a basis, you can pretty easily translate it and create a lot of recipes that are low carb. Keto definitely takes some commitment to do, though.

This is the best way to lose weight, but you must be very strict and keep you net carbs under 20 grams per day. There are no cheat days on Keto.

I'm fairly sure that studies have found that you can have a fairly high protein diet in keto and still be quite successful

SO true......fat is a good fuel, sugar is a bad fuel, however you need to be very disciplined because if you go back to eating sugar or carbs when on this diet, your body will use the sugar as fuel and you end up with a whole load of fat which eds up being stored, so could make you worse IF not disciplined enough !

I do enjoy Keto diets however I don't observe it strictly. Every time I add pasta and rice into meals, I start noticing a double chin and loose belly. Also noticed I felt a lot more sluggish and sleepy after each meal. Nowadays, I just buy whatever fresh greens are available, toss it in a bowl, and add a protein of my choice. Usually this is pan seared chicken breast or lean pork as it is cheapest for me. Also love it smothered in olive oil with a little salt and vinegar. When I want to get fancy, I buy whatever herbs available to spice things up a little. Super easy meal prep. So much cheaper too. Makes me more alert mentally, physically, and comes with a lot more consistent energy. For me personally anyways. And since I enjoy it, I just stick to it. Not doing it for weight loss. Just loving simple meals without the bloaty carbs. I am South East Asian, and this may not work for everyone I am sure. So go with what works for you!

I'm looking to lose weight and a friend suggested I try the keto diet, since I like meats rather than trying the vegan, or even the vegitarian diet. Also heart disease is hereditary on my dad's side of the family, and I dont want that for myself. So, I think going keto will not only help me lose the weight I want and need to put off but will help with that as well.

I did the keto diet while working out for four hours a day and the weight came off so quickly. None of my clothing fit. However the weight came quickly back. If you so much as look at a bowl of rice that's 10 pounds gained.

4 hours of workout a day sounds very intense especially if you were in a calorie deficit as well. That likely was a big reason for fast weight gain afterward. Slow and steady will give long-lasting results, but you will gain weight back if you just binge on calories after weight loss.
