The worst is when you're trying to keep a schedule and people throw extras at you...what's the best way to schedule work out
@semperfimechanic2 жыл бұрын
Yea man you have to learn how to say no or to scedule them for a follow up appt and if you do make sure you charge if you do it then you charge the same rate and for me every one is different. I live in Columbus ohio a city of 1 million people so I only do appts 2 days out sometimes just 1 day out because if someone calls and you schedule them for tomorrow they will wait but if you sat anymore then a day or 2 then they go somewhere else in a small town might be a lot different

Who do you use for insurance? I’m working on starting my own business and I have my LLC however, I’m having a very tough time getting insurance due to not having a commercial location
@semperfimechanic2 жыл бұрын
I use progressive insurance and where we are mobile mechanics you will need something called commercial auto. Same Insurance people use for food trucks and mobile hairdressers
@BADASSUNICORN372 жыл бұрын
@@semperfimechanic I got a quote from progressive for my commercial auto insurance. What about general liability for any potential accidents or faulty work?

What if I want to hire a mobile repairman but don’t have an actual building just hire them as an independent contractor? Require they have their own vehicle?
@semperfimechanic2 жыл бұрын
Yes yout exactly right. That's what I do the only garage we have is the house garage which is used for transmission jobs and swapping engines. So 99 percent of the work does not require a building. Just make sure they have a valid license and dependable car and their own tools and experience

question, would it be better to have the customer buy the parts needed or is that something I should do? & Were there specific jobs you did starting out or everything based on your experience?
@semperfimechanic2 жыл бұрын
It's better to have them get the parts saves you the time and hassle and everything you do is about time. What time you will get there, what time your leaving, what time you start, how long does it take. So have them get the parts now you can make money if you get them and bump the price 10 percent or something. Also starting out I would stick to brake jobs, suspension work, starter, and alternator jobs

There is currently no Mechanic License required to repair or service any vehicles in the State of Ohio. It's Optional, in other words You can be a Private Automotive Tech.

I was forced to by the attorney general inspector because he said your limited to so many vehicles
