TEDxYouth@Toronto brings together a line-up of inspiring speakers, spectacular performers, and Toronto's inquisitive young minds in the spirit of "ideas worth spreading". TEDxYouth@Toronto was hosted on Nov 16, 2013 at the Ontario Science Centre, Canada. For more information, please visit tedxyouthtoronto.ca/
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I'm working social entrepreneurs to help them tackle world problems and the Global Sustainable Goals through their profitable social enterprises. So your concept of leveraging commercial principles to maximize social impacts is right on the money.

an organisation that leveridges commercial principles etc etc the only problem i have with social enterprise as i do with private sector business, too much 'business speak' why cant we just speak in spade is a spade laymans terms for those of us with some brain cells missing, it would attract more people to social enterprise if we were just more clear and simple. Having said that, as one of those with a brain cell or two gone AWOL, im really into social enterprise and really want to immerse myself in it as much as possible.

I actually thought the same thing. If you can express an idea in simpler terms, do so :)

@@mattbuszko yes, it would be so much better to just use every day speech lol. On another subject. I'm Assuming your profile pic is the Polish eagle? I'm English but my Grandmother was from Poland, somewhere called Bakow I think.

@@markorollo. It is the Polish eagle :) I was born there but left at an early age. I'm not familiar with Bakow, but google maps makes it look like a small-ish village in the south. I'm from the northwest, near Germany. One funny thing, bąk is the Polish word for bumble bee (it can also mean horsefly and probably a bunch of other things), but it can also mean fart haha. So when I see the word Bąków, it makes me think of, like, city of farts or city of bumblebees haha, though I'm sure it's actually something much different

So many of these social enterprise videos just talk a whole lot of nothing. A lot of I's and personal stories. Need the way to employ unskilled people and produce income.

Just because the video is not on a topic that answers your needs it doesn't make it poor - this guy is a great speaker and has a lot to share, with actual practical suggestions, which is more than I can say for a lot of more "how-to" stuff on KZbin. It's great for those interested in understanding and pursuing a social enterprise. If you just want to make money then watch videos about starting an amazon business or something rather than insulting someone who has obviously put a lot of thought into his presentation and heart into his business. Also- if you think you are "unskilled" that is frustrating, but I'm certain that you have many skills- you just need to become self- aware and develop them or sell yourself based on them.

You just suggested to kids that being the ceo of McDonalds was a good idea. You just lost me. Did you get paid for that little plug. Promoting McDonalds to children is fucking horrible.
