There are no good acting agencies where I live, what do I do

+Gucci Gal it’s definitely tougher when someone isn’t in the hot spots of where agencies are located. It can suck sometimes. My first advice to you would be to double check there aren’t any good agencies in your area. Agencies (the real good ones) will have multiple offices in different areas, so check that out, sometimes we can accidentally miss those when going to every different webpage for information. Anyways, if you don’t find anything from that second go through, you may have to settle for an agency in your area that maybe isn’t that great, but you can still use them to help you get seen (until you have the opportunity to attain a stronger agent). If there aren’t any good agencies by you, that probably also means that you wouldn’t have many on site audition near you, but you could get video auditions. For those you’d tape yourself on camera and the agent would send your info off. It’s usually better to have an in person auditions I’d say, but lots of people have also had success with video submission. Hope that helps. P.S. if an agency wants to charge you money or you get a bad vibe, just say no and don’t go through the worry/hassle of wondering “should I or shouldn’t I?” Already have your line drawn in the sand. you will eighter have to move (if this is your dream) or join an agency for not that long of a time, grow a little in fame, then when your time is up dump them. youll have enough connections to go to a suitable agency.

Yes it can be bad.....it can appear as though you are trying too hard.....acting should be intense but relaxed at the same time......you gotta ask yourself do I make a lot of facial expressions when I'm talking to people off camera ? If your answer is yes.....then maybe you should

If you're forcing them out of you, then yes. I'd advise you to stop focusing on how you look and focus on the emotions you are feeling in that scene; be in the moment. Your character wouldn't be focused on what their face looks like in the moment, so you shouldn't be either. Don't try to control your face; feel the emotions and your face will express itself on its own.
