My 6 month old has been eating solids just like that and I have been a nervous wreck! He’s doing so well and he loves eating, I just didn’t know if he was too little to start, he has 3 older brothers and none of them were interested in foods that early. Your video made me feel a little better about it

Mine is 9months and still giving her purées 😞 but I’m thinking to try BLW now cause I heard that many babies that started with BLW turn to not be picky eater. Kinda worried to start because she doesn’t like big chunks and prefer blended foods. Wish me luck 🤞🏻

@@valvalentine473 Don't worry mama. Overtime they will get better! My son is now 22 months and he feeds himself. He has always been a picky eater, I don't think BLW would have helped much since we always offered finger foods since 6 months and he could care less about food. He was never a big feeder since birth with formula/breastmilk. So to save us a lot of headache, we still blend some of his food mainly veggies and put it in a food pouch. That has worked well for us. Good luck and you got this. Remember a fed baby is a happy baby.

That is ok! Mine sits a few seconds on her own, but still supoorted! All babies are different and your baby will get there! We just started my 6 month old baby on solids. Her first pure: sweet potato, carrots, and apple. She didn't know what to think haha, but I think she ate some. She ate some, then she played with it. I let her make a mess, honestly. I was advised to make food fun time, especially when she is still learning. I don't want her to associate feeding in a negative way, or forcing spoon in her mouth. I sure definitely can't wait till she eats more though. Next one will be mashed avocado.

No I don't think, the baby in video looks 8 months+ to me. My baby is 6 months old too but the hands here looks so flexible and stiff. And I'm worried about choking. 7 or 8 month should be if enough to start with. There is no hurry. They will learn obviously when grow up.

Ma’am I appreciate your videos they are thoughtful and helpful ^.^ Though at the end your bub was gagging on the egg, scary to watch. You should have stopped the camera and attended to him right away. Not telling you how to care for your child but, if you’re introducing him to solids you need to supervise closely and cut some of the foods in smaller chucks in order to minimise the risk of choking 😊
@JustAnotherAnonymousPost10 ай бұрын
The baby was gagging, not choking, which is a natural, normal response to protect the baby, so she did not need to help.

Smaller chunks can be less safe because they are the perfect size to block the airways, but bigger pieces can easily be spat out. More gagging but less choking, I think?

@Martel_Arizona_Rosalina8 ай бұрын
It is not risk free, but if you do everything right it is safe. There is always a choking risk, even with puréed food
@kristinakika8 ай бұрын
@@Martel_Arizona_Rosalina pureed food has lower risk to get choked on cause you dont have bigger chunks that could stop the air to get in lungs, thats why its pureed and its meant for babies. I dont want to shame anyone let them do what they think its best for their babies if their carefull, every parent just wants the best , im just saying for me it sounds "modern" to let your baby eat pieces of food on their own but until they have all teeth for me if they cant chew it like we do than its not necesarry. Just my opinion. But if this works for you and your baby ok
@Martel_Arizona_Rosalina8 ай бұрын
@@kristinakika it is absolutely fine to choose whatever method you think is best. All teeth are not needed for chewing. First, chewing teeth grow closer to the second year. It is advised by doctors for babies to start eating not puréed food at 8-9 months. This method is not necessarily new, there very no blenders in the past and in countryside mothers worked hard, so they did not had the time to mash everything.

@TheWarriorLV Жыл бұрын
Gagging u will hear the noise, it will look similar to this little cute one in the video at the end. So they will be coughing, retching it back up. Choking it will be silent or wheezing, they will look scared ( my little one sometimes looks scared gagging ) , their skin will change colors.

Don't know why people are behind teaching everything earlier. Feeding soft food from mother hands is also part of motherhood and you won't get these moments after as they will obviously start eating on their own just like we did

@@chaitrabaik7788because puréed food is not essential part of feeding, it is completely fine but it can be done without it, and naturally food doesn’t come in this texture

@@Martel_Arizona_Rosalina : my baby is 11 month old. I didn't have to teach him weaning I still feed him from my hands. But he can now eat anything if I give fruits like banana , carrots , healthier snacks etc. So no need to hurry. Babies have a very short gag reflex. You need to do research on how to cook and serve the foods so that they do not pose a choking hazard, as long as you follow the cutting and cooking rules then they will be safe for baby.
