I only have been vegetarian for around 5 years!! When I first stopped eating meat, my face wasnt as red and my blood pressure lowered, but after falling into a major depression funk my body has been so so sluggish and Ive turned to fast food for comfort!! Since I've been thinking of food as a more selective process, food wasn't just something I need to survive but something I craved as a sort of reward..... I want to have a good relationship with food again and stop thinking of it as a limited coping mechanism for being sad. I don't want to eat it often and avoid it when I can but I don't want it to be something that I completely avoid! I want to turn my restriction into a preference and gain a healthy relationship with food again! I'll be adding some turkey bacon bits to my breakfast tomorrow!!! Wish me luck!!

Try high quality pasture raised meats that are low in histamines and PUFA, then you will get nothing but benefits and no ill effects. Yup so many people tend to comfort themselves with foods that are not goo for them for sure, a crutch for unmet needs and unprocessed emotions.

I am just beginning my journey with eating meat again and something a friend told me that's helped with the emotional block towards making this change is that the animal sacrificed it's body for the sake of nourishing and sustaining another. Personally this is the biggest gift a creature give make to another and in order to restore the balance you have to honor the spirit of the animal and give thanks.

Hi. I want to start by saying thank you for this video. I have been vegan since I was 14, I am now 20. However, the last couple of months I have been contemplating going back. Monday (2 days ago) I had cheese first, my stomach was killing me and anything I ate after that also hurt (even my usual vegan foods). Eventually that pain went away. Yesterday, I had egg for the first time in a spinach and feta wrap from Starbucks. It was delicious and I ate it all with no stomach issues. Last night however, I attempted meat by having chicken on my plate of broccoli and rice. This is where things went downhill. I stared at the plate for 20 minutes until I started crying. Overthinking everything, feeling like a horrible human. I love animals, the whole reason I went vegan at a young age was because I could never justify contributing to eating these animals. Yet now I am experiencing extreme exhaustion I am not getting the nutrients I need other issues, I researched the risks of vegan diets and it aligned with what I was feelings. How do I get over this? I didn’t eat the meat last night, after crying I put the tiniest piece of meat on my fork. I had it in my mouth for three seconds before running to spit it out. It was slimy. It tasted like chicken I guess but with all of my emotions and the texture I couldn’t eat it. I know you say pray to the meat and thank the meat. What if that doesn’t work? Because I’m a very empathetic person, very emotional and I want to bring meat back into my diet but I when it comes to picking the fork up to eat the chicken it’s like my heart is shattering. Please be nice if you do choose to reply, I never put myself first and I decided that I have to in this case when it comes to my health. I’ve been struggling with this decision for a couple months. I just need help I guess with the meat part. It physically hurt my heart when I went to eat chicken. Yes I’ve accepted mentally that I’m not vegan anymore. I know this was posted awhile ago but hopefully someone who can help stumbles across this comment.

Hi, this video has great information! I want to ask for help, my daughter was a vegetarian for 3 years, just recently went back to meat because she got very sick, lots of symptoms. I tried giving her salmon, chicken and steak, they all cause her to cramp, she is taking digestive enzymes to help but I don’t think they are helping, she is miserable and waits hours for the pain to pass, I will definitely tell her to drink more fluids but not with her meat, any advice that you can give me please, which meat is easier to digest? What steps do I take with her? Should she keep taking digestive enzymes? I read they can cause cramps too, maybe we will try eating the meat like you explain here, without a drink? I hope this helps, she drinks chicken broth and bone broth, and seems to do well with those. Help please!!!! Thanks 😊

I've been mostly vegetarian for the past 10 years, but I definitely feel like I am on a decline healthwise and would like to start incorporating beef and chicken back into my diet. I had never stopped eating things like shrimp or fish but even then for the longest time I didn't even eat that. I have had probably 2 meals lately with some fried flounder, and prior to that grilled salmon/crab cakes or shrimp and have been fine. My 1st attempt with samon maybe a year ago didn't go so well but I feel like I have gotten pretty accustomed to at least seafood again. I definitely want start back on beef and chicken but do worry a little because I definitely can't eat pork. I have had some kind of allergy to pork for as long as I can remember but took me into my 20s to even realize that. I had heard beef can be harder to digest so I am thinking I need to take it slow. Main reason I quit was because of how bad the animals were treated at these big meat farms/NOT global warming. I plan on looking for a local butchers or farmers or at least make sure my meat doesn't come from those horrible meat farms. My birthday is coming up on the 24th and would love to be able to have a filet again. Not sure how slow I should take it or if, since I have gotten pretty accustomed to the seafood, then I should be ok. Im just worried about the extreme pain I feel when I eat pork and dont want to take it too fast.

Sounds like people shouldn't start being vegan or vegetarian in the first place... But I do understand the feeling towards animals... Most of us meat eaters should eat less meat that's for sure... One thing I didn't hear in this video is EGGs where something like chicken eggs that are not fertilized won't ever even become an animal so I would say that eggs might be a good start...

Actually no because if you research into ahimsa and eating meat you will find that if not eating meat is destroying your health then you're in fact not practicing ahimsa because you are destroying your body due to not eating meat, so the most self-loving ahimsa thing to do would be eating meat which i have made the choice to do.
@yawnaisian4 жыл бұрын
@@ConsciousCalisthenics I believe good evidence supports the conclusions that animal products are harming your health, any progeny's health, public health, the environment, world hunger, and animals. I know that everyone is different and may have higher biological needs for certain nutrients. But I still think you would be better off tailoring a vegan diet to your unique needs. Maybe you could consult with a professional to try to figure out what was going wrong before or if you have some underlying condition that needs treatment. Or if you just want to eat that way, that's your choice. But don't pretend your new diet isn't hurting anyone. People who truly practice Ahimsa don't even kill bugs and worry about killing microorganisms... परस्परोपग्रहो जीवानाम् ... You mock them if you wear that tatoo while practicing your current lifestyle.

@Alco Goblin Spot on, millions of animals die a year from mono-crops of plant foods so vegans are paying for foods that kill way more animals than we do from eating a carnivore based diet, I only eat around one cow a year.

@@ConsciousCalisthenics You're full of ****. You can use whatever shotty excuses you pull out of... to try to justify your actions. But you can't change the fact that you're absolutely wrong and a huge hypocrite, especially with that tattoo. At some level, I think you know this and that you're argument is kind of pathetic. Your current lifestyle is lose lose lose for all involved... Your argument is that conventional plant agriculture kills millions of insects. Let's assume that's true, for the sake of argument. Who consumes more of these insect murdering conventional plants, the 160 lbs vegan or the 1500 lbs cow you slaughter every year to destroy your health, the environment, and animals... The answer is obvious. But vegans actually do not kill lots of insects. Veganic permaculture is a popular trend that is good for humans, the environment, microorganisms, and animals. You save tons of money, eat local, improve soil health, etc... You're insulated from changing prices and economic downturns... You can compost, make biogas, etc... We can and store food for the winter. Some of us sell to local markets and restaurants. Ours is a more natural lifestyle, in tune with the land. And btw, you look absolutely terrible right now. I remember when you were vegan. I almost didn't recognize you. You look like a corpse and I'd hate to know what you're arteries look like..Idk what health challenges you're dealing with, but I hope you snap out of this destructive trend and get some help before your health is irreparably destroyed.
