most amazing teacher i have seen so far and your, info has given me the guidance i needed to fix my metabolism and leave diabetes behind, and i am for ever grateful. thank you :-) now if i could only get over my 32 hour fasting limit... salt water doesn't help to shut up ghrelin any more and, i tried to cheat with doing a fat fast, but after i have oil's and or butter, an hour or two later i still feel hungry, i am currently doing OMAD on carnivore, i want to get to one meal every 48 hours and do this for a year in order to revers insulin resistance, any tip's?

I have been OMAD for 4 months now and at age 51 I fell so much strong and better. Good quality sleep, walking 30 miles a week, fat adapted, no sugar plus a healthy KETO regime have changed my life. I workout regularly and at 45 I am in the best shape of my life and don’t feel the need for 3 heaping plates of food, 3 times a day. just want to say that I have followed your advice and you honestly may have saved my life... I was 287 pounds with a 90 resting heartbeat and a average of 165 / 90 blood pressure WITH medications. I was just recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I saw one of your videos and starting to put your methods into practice. It has been 3 and a 1/2 months and I am down in weight from 287 pounds to 228 pounds! My resting heart rate has gone down to 77 beats a minute! My blood pressure has gone down to 120 / 70 and my blood sugar never goes past 100 even when i eat! (Says around 80 while fasting). I cannot express my gratitude enough Sir, you have My respect and I truly believe in your truth because I live it! I've been doing OMAD since 2019. There are so many benefits to eating this way. I have learned a lot about my body, nutrition and energy in doing so. I love it and definitely intend to continue this as a lifestyle. I used to think hunger would just get progressively worse and worse until eat, but the opposite happens. I no longer get hungry throughout the day. I've done away with the need to snack and I don't have to be a slave to fast food when traveling. Preparing food is a joy, now. I can put thought into what I eat and eat more deliberately. When I lay out my plate, I can get a total view of what I am putting into my body for the day.

Had a few tea cup and one coffee during the day and its ok, also excersise helps makes me last longer without eating. In terms of weight loss i went from 120kg to 76kg in like a year maybe 10 months but keep in mind it was after retiring from pro rugby eating 6 times a day lol, now im at 86kg looking muscular and feeling better than ever. @walkwithme After a couple weeks I felt like I had a pretty good system down and it started becoming easier, but it wasn't really until 2-3 months that it really became comfortable. @@alenaduplantier4505 My goal wasn't weight loss. I was pretty close to my ideal weight, perhaps 10 lbs over. I'm right at my ideal weight now. I have noticed that I don't have to extend any special effort to maintain my weight. It stays right where it should. Whether I eat high carb meals with a lot of calories, or low-carb ketogenic meals, my body weight holds very stable. I'm 5'9" and 145lbs. I do eat large portion sizes, usually 2000 cal+ meals. Right on Doc! I went on a OMAD regime this time last year, I'm down >25lbs and sitting right at my ideal weight. My wife and I found that occasionally when meal time rolled around we weren't really hungry yet. Those days are when we skipped another meal and just waited 'til the next day (48 hour fast) to eat. Thank you ! I spend almost whole day working at PC. And all my colleagues have breakfast and then , exactly at 11.00 they go to lunch but NOT because of hunger , but because it is 11.00 AM. I have been accustomed to this several decades . 2 weeks back I started to skip the lunch. Even after 2 weeks my mind is much better, my senses are great , I have also changed the structure of food (salads , vegetables , LC food , lot of green tea , water with lemon )... I am not only happier. I am younger , lighter , much less tired .... thank you so much. Of course , everyone should use brain and listen to his/her body . Enjoying life. Also my stress and depression are off . ❤

I've been eating OMAD on Carnivore for the last eight months. I've lost 50lbs and lowered my A1C level from 12.5 to 6.5. I just went in today, November 6, 2023, for my regular A1C bloodwork. Being a type 2 diabetic who has an enlarged heart and has had a heart attack and stroke, I am surviving quite well eating just one Carnivore meal a day. I am hardly ever hungry and rarely crave unhealthy foods. When I do get either feelings, I eat more protein. I realized that happens only when I haven't eaten enough protein that preticuler day. Once in a while, I add ounion, garlic, and cheese to my all protein meals. Not only has my weight and diabetes improved, but my brain fog is completely gone, and my energy level has also greatly increased. I love watching your videos because they truly follow my lifestyle.

I've been prepping my body into omad and I'm in the last stretch of doing a 72 hr fast. Because I prepped towards it, it's not been as hard.will revert back to omad to mix things up and then either do occasional 48 or 72hrs here and there😉

I started following 3.5 months ago after one video caught my eye. It had a screen shot with a tag “blurred vision”. I watched it and it changed my life. I can’t believe how beneficial the fasting has been. Lately i noticed how much sharper my mind it too. I was getting used to being forgetful. Now I’m actually surprised how well I focus multi-task. At 62 this has been like being reborn. Weight is coming off slowly. I have had blood work done and it’s better than ever. I’m fortunate that I didn’t have a lot of issues but the blurred vision is completely gone and I have increased night vision like I did when I was much younger. Thanks for what you provide in these videos. Life saving and life changing.

I find this fascinating the way our bodies expect/learn. I have never felt like eating breakfast, but as you said , people say you must eat breakfast. So I would make myself eat breakfast and would be hungry at work by 9/10 am. Since retiring and learning about fasting and the keto way of eating I never have breakfast and I am not hungry until about 2pm. I have lost about fourteen pounds (I am 140 lbs) and am happy with my weight. I am sixty nine and live in a second floor apartment with stairs, so I have to carry my shopping up two flights of stairs, which I can do, sometimes it makes me a bit breathless but I consider this to be my daily weight bearing exercise. Thank you for all the good information you give.

I’m going to make this short and sweet. For years I’ve exercised off and on I would lose a little weight, but once I stopped it would come back. My highest weight was 255 lbs. I’m 6 feet tall. Most people would not have considered me fat they would call me solid. I had 3 ahh moments, first I went to a gym for an evaluation the trainer said losing weight is more about what I eat than exercise, then a couple of years later I went to join a gym closer to home I thought I was in pretty good shape. The trainer had me do a few exercises I felt like I was going to puke up my guts. Then my doctor told me my blood pressure was a little high. These were my wake up calls. I’m not sure how or when I started intermittent fasting, but it was a total game changer. I went from 255 lbs. to maintaining 200 lbs. I notice my body would fight me at 200lbs, my goal was to get to 180, so 2 months ago I decided to cut sugar out of my diet no more cakes and cookies. I’m now down to 180 all of my weight markers are green except for my subcutaneous fat, I may need to get to 175. I would have never thought I could lose my gut (visceral fat) I have. I went from an extra large to a medium. My stamina has never been better. This is my testimony to intermittent fasting. P.S. I remember buying and drinking cartons of orange juice, never drinking soda thinking it was healthier. I’m so glad people can be educated on things that I was ignorant too. Thank you 🙏🏽 😊

Yeah but you don't really need medical supervision when you practice any kind Regiment of fasting... the reason you should not get doctors involved who don't understand the concept of fasting because they will tell you to stop. That's the problem with a lot of doctors he want you to be sick they don't want you to practice fasting.. example of a couple years ago there was a video on KZbin from the channel called the doctors there was a guy named Cole who had a very high amount of people who practice fasting and lost over 70 lb. Regardless of all the results these doctors kept saying that fasting is dangerous is dangerous that they should stop it.. the consulate did not listen to the person that was on the podcast they kept saying medical study medical study medical study that fasting is dangerous but they were referring to a study that never published not to mention it was never peer-reviewed about two days ago dr. Eric Berg actually discussed the study how it's completely absurd that people are using this study as an example to say that fasting is dangerous.. if you were to write a paper on fasting and you use that medical study you would get a big fat fail on your paper because that medical study has no information whatsoever all of it is is a abstract with no real scientific data attached to it

Your body constantly adapts to various environmental and behavioral changes.* 04:02 🏃‍♂️ *Observing body adaptations, like heart rate changes during activities, demonstrates the body's intelligent responses to different conditions.* 05:23 🎸 *Regular activities, like playing guitar or exercising, prompt the body to adapt physically, like callus formation or muscle hypertrophy.* 08:43 🍲 *Eating one meal a day for 30 days prompts metabolic changes, reduces hunger over time, and teaches the body to efficiently use stored energy.* 10:02 ⏳ *Food ingested takes time to convert into energy; most energy from meals is stored initially, with only a small trickle used immediately.* 13:31 🍔 *Eating patterns influence the body's fuel sources; eating fewer carbs or less frequently forces the body to switch to burning fat for energy.* 16:43 ⚠️ *One meal a day isn't suitable for everyone; avoid it if you're underweight, pregnant, breastfeeding, a child/teenager, or have specific health conditions.* 18:31 🔄 *After 30 days of eating once a day, the body adapts, experiences reduced hunger, improved metabolic health, potential weight loss, stable energy, and increased freedom from food schedules.* 21:36 🛑 *Plateaus in weight or metabolic changes might require longer fasts to break; intermittent longer fasts can aid in deeper fat burning.* 22:59 🔄 *Experiment and find an eating pattern that suits your body; change is easy, and adapting eating habits can lead to the desired health outcomes.*

Great info! I have been doing OMAD for about 2 weeks and I have already lost around 11 pounds since I have about 140 more pounds to lose. I find that I don't get hungry until my usual meal time unless I see or smell food and I know that isn't actual hunger but more like cravings. Out of sight, out of mind is the way to go!! The first time I tried fasting I did a prolonged fast and found I couldn't do anything but sleep. But since then, I've done multiple prolonged fasts and OMAD days and I have plenty of energy!

@victoriastroud4820
@victoriastroud4820 2 жыл бұрын
@@davidwasilewski I'll be honest and say that I got off the wagon a bit, but I'm back on OMAD now. I think having something to drink other than water helps. I like diet soda or a cup of hot tea with stevia. Keep your eye on the prize. Look forward to your one meal and incorporate a treat into it maybe. Like tell yourself, if you wait til your designated meal time to eat, you will get a small cookie or something as a reward. And be hard with yourself--if you mess up, you take that reward away. I find having a motivator like that helps me so much. Nothing I'm tempted by during the day seems to be worth losing my nighttime treat. Just figure out a system that works for you. I find it's easiest to wait til evening for my meal, rather than eating first thing or at lunch because eating just makes me want more later. Nighttime is always when I'm having cravings. So pick an eating time that fits you based on when you're most vulnerable to being tempted by food. Keeping yourself busy is important too. It make the time pass faster. I often don't even have hunger pangs unless I'm bored, not busy, or just thinking about food actively. Also, if I eat too late/too much, I will have hunger pangs first thing when I wake up, so I try to avoid that. I think just monitoring how your body reacts and adjusting accordingly is a good strategy. Good luck, it gets easier and easier the more you do it! It's really not that bad. It helps with self-discipline, which we could all use some more of IMO.

Dr. Ekberg, thank you for another great video. Of the many, many people on KZbin who offer wellness advice, yours always stands out as the most thorough, honest, direct, and well-intentioned. There are so many times when you share information on something that I've heard before in some form or another, but because you are so good at explaining it, the information finally penetrates my thick skull, and I incorporate it into my lifestyle. I believe I speak for many people when I humbly ask that you apply your explanation skills to a video covering the ways in which Percocet (and similar drugs) affect our bodies and minds; in the short-term, the long-term, and whether there is a difference in their effect on those of us who follow a low-carb, ketogenic, intermittent fasting lifestyle. Thank you, and God Bless You!

Hello Dr. Ekberg. I’ve been on one meal a day for going on three years now. I was diagnosed diabetic 2 1/2 years ago and decided to do something new. I had some OMAD years before & know that it was only a matter of conditioning. I’m now almost 68 & still unmedicated for my diabetes because I’ve kept my A1C below 7; I exercise every day despite spinal stenosis & degenerative disc disease, working through the pain. I look twenty years younger than my actual age. Thank you.
