Such a great video, lots of info, but concise and to the point. We own a luxury Resort in the Black Hills of SD, and have a year round greenhouse, and really want to add edible flowers to the menu. Thanks for the great content.

Great introduction to growing edible flowers. Do you cut and deliver the same day? What's the shelf life of the blooms when cut? How do they stand up to a chef's walk-in cold storage?
@urbanagmikeАй бұрын
@@miriamwiegel8351 Thank you! Yes, always same day delivery. They’ll last (as in keep their general shape and not get droopy) up to a week and must be refrigerated.

Great video! What are you planning on growing in this new space?
@urbanagmike4 ай бұрын
Thanks Trent! Honestly, i'm pretty close to going tropical in here. A smaller room is easier to control, and I could pull off some warmer climate crops. Maybe a variety of some fruits, cacti, i've even considered building a small sea moss set up. Have any suggestions please send them over!

Thanks for the awesome video. How many hours of light per day do they need for the bloom phase?
@urbanagmike3 ай бұрын
@@JdotAdotH Hey thanks for the comment! Very welcome, I appreciate it. So I had them on 16 off 8. You could probably go little higher like 17/7; but I wouldn’t go much over that. Flowers like most plants need the rest in the dark!

Great Content! How long can you harvest flowers from them?
@urbanagmike3 ай бұрын
@@lorantvesztergom9479 Because we’re indoors these can be harvested from for atleast two months! It will take pruning and upkeep for best results because if they get over crowded it will stunt others. Thanks a lot for your comment and watching! Any other Qs please let me know.

@@emiliomocibob1878 Between 60-70 degrees F has worked for me, though I usually aim to keep towards the hotter side. (65-70) Everything I grow - grows faster when little warmer. Thanks for watching and the comment!

@@urbanagmike Thank you for your fast reply. We just started a few days ago and are getting around 7 viola flowers per week per plant. So I am quite pleased with the starting result, do you think it is a good amount of flowers?. We are using mars hydro ts1000 lights. Thanks.

Can i choose only one type of the led light for the whole process ?
@urbanagmike20 күн бұрын
@@subhanrustamli7694 Yes, just want to make sure it’s a full spectrum light! That way you know the plant will have what it needs throughout any stage of the growing cycle.

From start to finsh how long do they typically take to grow ? I mean are you able to know roughly what day these flowers are ready for delivery ?

If you watch the video and check timestamps, I take you through a full cycle! You can see it's just over 60 days, same if grown outside! Thanks for the comment.

how often are you using the fertilizer in your grow as they bloom? i followed your directions but used sea mineral and my blooms came out so dam tiny also are you watering once a day
@urbanagmike22 күн бұрын
@@chrisboyce1 I’d say 80% of the time they were watered with the fertilizer I showed in this video! Sea Minerals are great; but mainly supplement making things healthier, not encouraging rigorous growth. Sorry to hear that! Can always move to a different fertilizer! And I watered roughly once every other day. I give them a good soaking then let them chill till medium gets dry again.
