That's amazing! I realizad after 5 years in the UK that I've been doing this exercises since I moved to England (except the "investing money" on courses, I would say my biggest improvement has been thanks to working with native speakers). One of the reasons I moved here was to improve my fluency in English and to loose that "Spanish" accent I had. Now I feel quite proud when people ask me where am I from, and when I say Spain, they can't believe it. I still need more practice, better grammar, more vocabulary and better pronunciation, my economic investment will be next September when I start Applied languages at university, studying English as a foreign language 😊😊😊. I love seeing videos like this one, makes me happy to realize I didn't waste my time in these years where I got immersed in the English culture. For those who cannot have the chance to travel, letting you know that there are many ways to improve your skills, back in Spain I used to go to meet ups with native speakers so they could practice Spanish and I could practice English, they were quite cool and you also learn about their culture which is always a plus hehe.

I moved to the UK from Singapore (an English speaking country in Asia) when I was 17 but despite the fact that I am surrounded by my British friends everyday, I still face difficulties picking up the British accent. While it never caused any issues when it comes to making friends with the locals but it started affecting my career progression. All my ex and current partner are southern British, they all gave me the same feedback that the way I pronounce each word is very British but when I link them all into a sentence, I sound foreign. Not sure if your course would help with my situation. Also I found it almost impossible for me to pronounce the word “cold” and “milk”, would be grateful if you could make a video on words with the letter “l” in the middle! Thanks Elliott!

Hi Eliott, as I study English I aim at nailing the British accent. However I find that when I struggle finding the words to say I don't focus on how I pronounce them and I end up loosening my accent (towards American). In this respect it seems like the obstacle between me and a perfect accent is vocabulary. What would you say is a time-efficient way to widen my vocab?

They just want you to sound nice and clear. Pronunciation is one of the most important parts of the exam, so just make sure you're pronouncing sounds correctly. The accent itself isn't too important

Well, actually, most people say they hate their voices when they listen to their own recordings ... at first, our own voice sounds quite weird to us, but after a while you get used to it and even end up loving it ... I tell you this because it's a typical observation in groups of students ;-)
