Am new to your channel. Apart from the techniques, I rarely hear about paying attention to the one preparing to journal. Like taking deep breaths to centre oneself and cultivate an open n curious mind. And last but not least: "mental health is not something you have but what you practice!" Spot on.

I had no idea there were so many techniques. Sometimes I do something similiar to clusters where I make associations around a word. Its interesting to see what peoples journaling preferences are. My journals are visually atrocious and I seldom ever read my old entries. I only save my poems and songs. Thats what I cherish the most. My songs.. they are like beautiful fire which burns me. I obsess over them and It can be exhausting bombarding myself with negative emotions. However, I worry sometimes we give the brain all the credit and not the soul. I see my soul/heart as a place. Like a garden of sorts. I have to water plants and pull weeds. Sometimes feeling pain is like a game of tag. What we dont take the time to feel might hunt us down later. So yea, I'm a crazy artist making offerings for the Gods in exchange for peace 🤣 And its tough but thankfully I am rewarded with grace. Why does anyone make art? Are some people destined to wrestle with demons on that holy battleground we call the human soul? On my most optimistic days I wonder.. If an artist wins the battle. If we can muster an alliance with the shadows. If we can save our inner world from destruction and transform it into strength and beauty.. Maybe. Just maybe it could have a similar effect on the outer world. And of course.. Welcome back 😊 we missed you ❤️

Most people are familiar with only a few journaling techniques such as Stream of Consciousness or Springboards (like journaling prompts), but there are so many out there! Trying new techniques allows us to grow with the practice, instead of remaining stagnant in one place - and especially as an artist, that is paramount. :) Thank you for showing up, Andre, and for the warm welcome back! 🙏
@andreg36193 ай бұрын
I appreciate hearing your perspective, especially when it comes to journaling. It's a treat just knowing someone else has a passion for it. Also, I just remembered a very cool technique! One that isn't on your list. So, I have tendonitis in both of my hands. I used to build light fixtures for 5 years, plus I've been writing and playing guitar since I was 12. So, how can one journal when their hands are too achey? You should totally add this one to your list. It may prove beneficial for others with hand injuries, etc. Sometimes.. I do audio journaling! I use a hand held recorder and just spill everything on my mind. I would even encourage you to try it if you haven't already. Not only will it give your hands a rest, but there is something so cathartic about using your voice.

The reason I do not want to start the gratitude journaling is that, I am mostly alone and I do not have the best moments or somebody who has been kind to me. Its mostly repetetive and that makes me bored or probably less exciting to write and unconsciously avoiding to see myself doing that. In this case, what are the tips for actually starting to write gratitude journaling here?

Hi Ana, what tools do you suggest to use to record random thoughts ? Thanks for video, keep up the good work.
@AnaJuma3 ай бұрын
The best journaling technique to record thoughts is stream of consciousness. If you’d like to mimic the speed of your inner dialogue and transcribe it as it comes, try digital journaling (typing or audio) - it speeds up the process.
