One small vessel I worked on had a Wichmann 4ACAT from 1968, 600hp. Very much the same start up procedure as this huge engine. Drain start air, open indicator, purge, close indicator, open oil, turn valve for prelube pump and start it, turn manual handle for piston lubrication, start when oil pressure is correct, switch over valve from prelube pump, test.

I was working as ETO on Maersk Sana, Santana and Seville in 2006-2007. Nice memories, thanks.

Wouldn't it be awesome if you get a chance to work on Maersk Triple E container ships and show us it's engine room in details.

I apologize if this is stupid, but when/how do you actually start the engine? At 3:57 you said the engine is ready to be started, then at 4:15 you say it's time to put the air compressors and aux blowers into automatic, then tell the bridge the engine is ready?
@leckyjake Жыл бұрын
aux blowers will automatically cut in and cut out at certain rpm, while the air compressor will automatically cut in and out at certain pressures. For as long as you have enough air on the reservoirs it can still be started in that condition, Aux blowers and Air compressor not in auto,. I made the sequence like that just incase someone will also comment like that

Your English language accent is atrociously bad, after just a few sentences the brain work to figure out what words were hiding behind your blubbering sounds ruins any attempt to understand the rest. I've experienced this before with someone from Vietnam, and it severely ruined my attempts to work with the guy, even though he was talented. Hints to anyone suffering from having that accent: 1. Try not to sound like you're gurgling water in your throat. You may have to relearn how to form each letter sound in western languages. 2. Once you get the sound right don't space out each word like a 1980s robot speech synthesizer, there's a rhythm to languages that doesn't match that workaround for bad accents. We only need the extra second between words to figure out what letters you were saying behind the accent.
