@@LoGsounds bro i been playing guitar since 12. But studying guitar music theory for the past 4 years (i 22). I understand this mini lesson after 1 hour of studying almost every day for the past few weeks studying arpeggios, octaves, inversions etc. all that studying while learning to memorize major 7 / dom 7 / minor 7 arpeggios. Even tho that stuff should all be explained to a beginner when learning the CAGED system, its usually skipped over or not explained well. Its usually an epiphany for a beginner when they fully understand what a key is and the diatonic notes/ chords within them. So ya your lesson is complex for noobies unless ur an actual theory nerd learning.

@@LoGsounds also after all this studying i still cant make music. Meaning learning songs similar to the music u want to make and learning the theory behind those songs will help u get versed with how the grammar (music theory) of the language (music) is used.

Thanks for the comment. It's unfortunate but true, a vast majority of people do not focus on this type of material, and instead focus on scale shapes and finger patterns. This type of material is literally how music is made and has been for hundreds of years, guitar players over the generations have just decided that it's not important, even though it makes up everything that they play. It's also important to realize that what I'm talking about here is not for music theory nerds, it's literally how every single piece of music you have ever heard in your life functions, for the most part. It's like being a computer programmer and saying learning how to code is nerd stuff. I think it's important to not categorize this information like that, because it makes it seem like it's only important for the brainiacs and not the casual person, when in reality it's the number one thing that will help the casual person understand what's happening. It obviously takes time of course, but everything does.

This is because studying music moves like these do not immediately bestow upon you the ability to write. These are tools and tactics and strategies to understand how music works, and to define the sounds that you hear and enjoy. Creating music is a completely different craft that requires a creative approach. These tools strategies and tactics can be used in that approach, but just because you're studying those tools doesn't mean you're immediately a writer. Just because you know how to use a hammer doesn't mean you're now a carpenter, It simply means you know the tools that carpenters use. It's up to you to figure out how you like to use them in a creative avenue. If I'm ever teaching a concept to a student, the number one thing I recommend they do is to write something using that concept. Doesn't have to be a masterpiece, they just have to go through the process of trying to create with the tool. If you're only practicing the tool for the tools's sake, and not in a creative pursuit, It will only be a practice tool and not a creative tool.
