Thank you so so much, everytime a listen to you video I feel better and get so much hope. I was operate on live for 5 hours to put in a pace maker. The medicine the use for opp just won't work so I was screaming for 5 hours. Since then I am dizzy, thick head, ears pop, eyes don't like light, go nowhere. My body is my jail. All the test say nothing wrong, for which I am so blessed and thankful. But the simptoms rule my life. Your videos is my life saver.

Your comment about taking small steps like just walking to the front door when you are debilitated, was really comforting to me. A big part of this daily constant panic and anxiety stems from the extent of my inability to function right now. I'm afraid I'm going to be bed bound forever, and that is no way to live... if I could only just stop the anxiety spiral, I could handle these symptoms so much better. Thank you for being a light in my darkness right now. 🙏

@@pezzano28 omg yes! My anxiety has felt worse than the dizziness but I can recognize it now as being attached and part of the cycle. That helps so much to not get lost in it and to know that it will pass if you can find ways to break the cycle. The Steady Coach has been pivotal for me in not feeling like I was loosing it simply due to the insane levels of fear and anxiety.

I am motion-triggered (cruise) MdDS in Feb 2023 (I was a 3-4 mostly and for 2 weeks a 5-6 on the MdDS scale) and I am now mild 24/7 (1-2-2.5) for many months now. As someone who is living life to the fullest for months and I did a ton of different treatments, for me I got peace knowing this is how it is now OR for now - it’s either going to go away or it’s not, life does and doesn’t go our way. I have another benign condition that I also just deal with. I don’t care if my symptoms are persistent and mild because I can function and be happy in other ways. I don’t know if this is what people want to hear because I take a logical/tough approach (I also hate the word “hope” because it’s a gray area word that isn’t concrete), but as I said, the reality is sometimes life plays in our favor and other times it doesn’t but you must be happy internally 😬❤️

Mine started years ago , dr said after bloodwork it was anxiety related after severe panic episodes. Then, my lady passed away suddenly at home over 4 years ago suddenly while we were olaying with our kids. Since then its gotten worse. Taking on a full time job that i hate and being full time dad to a 5 year old and a 6 years old, the stress of that and the sadness and trauma from not having her here seems to be the factor.

Took the free course , all makes sense my biggest trigger is strength training so I'm gonna stop for a few weeks to see what happens, I work in construction so maybe the strength training is just overloading nervous system? As I improve will try cardio and stretching as less stress full than weights less fatigue I previously had virus and ear issues, thanks for everything you do!

I am very sorry you're going through this. We're here if you need more support. My suggestion is to consider going through the free course a second time. Many people have told me they were too panicked the first time to really "take in" what the course suggested. It might help to go through it slowly. You can also consider Unlearn Your Pain by Dr. Howard Schubiner and The Way Out by Alan Gordon- inexpensive books that will help!

@fish-o7835
@fish-o7835 3 ай бұрын
Dr. Yo! First, I would like to thank you a million times for providing so much knowledge, information, and help for free here on KZbin. I'm so glad I found your channel and I've greatly profited from it and made progress in my recovery from PPPD. I would like to ask you one question: Since chronic stress causes high cortisol levels, do you think it might be helpful to, e.g., have your DHEA levels checked and, in case of low DHEA levels, consider a hormone replacement therapy? Please don't get me wrong: Thanks to the information in your videos, I'm well aware of the fact that the main challenge in the treatment of PPPD is to make lifestyle changes, reduce stress levels, identify emotional issues, etc. and that just taking hormones is not enough. However, I was wondering if it might be helpful as a supportive measure. Again, thank you so much for your outstanding and extremely helpful work - you are a saint! Best wishes, Martin

Hi Martin! This is a great question. We are whole systems - not just a mind, not just a body. Stuff happens to the body when we're dealing with chronic symptoms and stress. I think it makes sense to consider supportive measures to help the body (you've probably heard me talk about the stress bucket a lot). My issue is that most of the best bang-for-your-buck measures are free and don't require a bunch of medical intervention (e.g. exercise, sunlight, whole foods), and I hate to see people go down a rabbit hole of functional medicine only to end up spending tons of money for no gain. I am not a hormone specialist and there is zero research to support this specifically for dizziness BUT when someone has a clear deficiency, it makes complete sense to address it. I have seen both men and women take HRT during their recoveries. It's not a cure (as you said), but it can make the stress bucket more robust.

Hello and thank you for your videos 😊 I have had problems with dizziness for the last 6 months. First 7 weeks when it went away. Then 1 week and then now for 5 weeks. Has been checked for ear stones and virus on the balance nerve, as well as an MRI scan of the brain and inner ear, but there was nothing to see on any of it. My dizziness disappears almost completely when I drive and is often very mild in the morning and comes on quietly during the day. So my thought is that maybe it could be pppd. My problem is that there are no doctors who know about pppd here in Denmark, so it is impossible for me to get an assessment from a doctor. However, it must be said that I have had a lot of problems with anxiety and stress over the last 1.5 years, and have noticed that all 3 times my dizziness was triggered I had taken a sleeping pill/zopliclone the night before. Is it possible that a sleeping pill can activate pppd? Is it something you have heard of before?

@thesteadycoach Hi, I have a question. My dizziness (PPPD) is chronic and really bad. When you mention to set a schedule around the things that you know you can do, even on a bad day, what does this schedule look like? How many times per day do I do this? Sorry, I hope that's not a dumb question, I'm just desperate and don't know what to do with some of the info. I just need an idea of what a schedule looks like for doing these things. Thank you.
@TheSteadyCoach

It’s a great question. Write down the things you’re doing right now. Like, “I get up to use the bathroom at 9 am. Then I lie down for 30 minutes. Then I take 5 minutes to put on my slippers” etc. figure out your baseline of activity even for small and silly things at home and then start doing those things daily even when you feel good (or bad). Then start adding on.

Which condition would exacerbate symptoms when working out? Every time I try to lift weights, run, or anything physical, the following 2-4 days are terrible with symptoms dizziness, brain zaps, brain fog, etc. Thank you in advance! For context, I had MRI's and a VNG, they did see some hypofunction in some of my inner ear systems.

ppdassociation.org/s/PPD-Bibliography-January-2024.pdf for similar central sensitization disorders including migraine, and studies on PPPD specifically indicating CBT is superior to VRT. CBT doesn't go far enough IMO and experience but it's a start. Also lots of anecdotal evidence can be found here: kzbin.info/aero/PLFf7T0374CmC4e-krn3BzPvtd3ZwXcabj. You also need to remember that there is no financial incentive to fund studies that don't involve pharmaceutical agents and medical devices. There are surely some things I'm wrong about but in the absence of studies to prove efficacy, the vast majority of the tools I suggest are completely free and the ones that cost money are low cost, and they clearly work for many of the commenters and people in interviews so.... not much to lose when the mainstream offers pretty much nothing.
