I think a couple more background information forms a bridge between the hook and the thesis, right? Well, it's difficult.

I doubt the hook and the thesis are difficult because the hook is broad while the thesis is concise.

And if the background information is too long, can the introduction paragraph be broken up into few paragraphs? I mean you did say that it will be three, four, or five pages long, so can it be broken down into couple of paragraphs just like you said in the conclusion paragraph as well?

You want to only add information to the background that is absolutely necessary--I find that a lot of student add too much fluff. You can break your Intro into two paragraphs but only do that for a longer paper--if it’s a short essay, the intro should be shorter.

Have you watched my video on how to write a hook? I’ll give you some tips: 1.) Don’t write your hook until you are finished writing the rest of your essay. That way you k is what you are actually hooking them to. 2.) Think about the ways tornados and hurricanes are different. I would sit down and list all the ways. 3.) Watch my video on hooks but really don’t write the hook til you write your entire essay.

Best place to start is with writing an essay question-----something like: 1. What caused Rosa Parks to stand up against segregation? 2. What effect did Rosa Parks have on the Civil Rights movement? Does that help?

The amount of the BI really depends on the topic...you need to find the right balance.

I think it would have been a better transition if Mister Messinger would say, "...better than Batman. *For example*, Bruce..." or "...better than Batman. *Speaking of which*, Bruce..." or just something between the 2nd and 3rd sentences. Even though this is the introduction, you must use transitional words or expressions. You must do so in not just the introduction, the body, but also the conclusion. I'm not saying randomise transitions EVERYWHERE (where EACH transition connects EACH sentence). NO! There are ways to connect dots to dots without overly using transitions, repetitive words, redundancy, etc. We can use active and passive voices. We can use different pronouns: "it", "this", "that" etc. to refer to the previous idea. We can use sentence variety: simple, complex, compound, and complex-compound. We can switch things while we translate, between and/or within sentences and/or paragraphs. I'm just helping your essay introduction to be better, Mister Messinger. You can fix it IF you want. The point is like you said, our goal is to write an organized, pellucid, and structural essay.
