My issues as a new designer has been payment. I just started taking clients three months ago and right now I have $540 of unpaid work that I've done for people. Thankfully my work is all watermarked, but that still doesn't exclude the fact that I had put time into this with planning, execution plus revisions made to the project as well.

I don’t release final files until the final payment is done! Maybe that’s something you could write into your contract

i literally have the same issue. i started my freelance business this year and clients would flake on me towards the middle or end of the project. im thinking of having them pay an upfront fee.

Depends on your country! Just making sure you are tracking all your income and registered as an independent business you should be good!
