So interesting... I am watching this older video in the midst of corona virus pandemic. Rick said very well: it is hard to predict what will happen even the next week.

We become irrelevant by straying from God's word which is the basis for all truth and understanding. The Word defines everything that is relevant. Christ is the center of the universe and truth. To be relevant is to be IN Christ. Should we use contemporary illustrations to make our point? Sure, but let us not confuse the issue.

He says we have to always be changing, what worked yesterday may not work today or tomorrow- but there is one constant. God. He does not change. He is there. If you go to Him, always, you will always be making the right decisions. This is a solution that has stood the test of time, and will stand the test of time.

He actually said we should stay with the timeless aspects of our organizations. I'm pretty sure he thinks God and the Gospel are timeless.

Matt 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it." But our culture tells us to follow the crowd, hmmm……..

I would say how to be relevant is to be a standup man of God that doesn't listen to weak comromising, people pleasing people like Rick Warren who stated that Christians and Muslims serve the same God and who waffles back and forth on the issue of homosexual marriage. He wrote "Spiritual Principle #! of Celebrate Recovery that says we are Spiritually Poors. God's word says we are blessed with every spiritual blessing and heirs of Christ. It does not get any more opposite the truth.

How to stay Relevant? Get modern day revelation. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has modern day revelation. "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." The Bible is supposed to change the way that we see and respond to our Culture, not the Culture should change the way that we interpret the Bible.

He never said that you should change the way you interpret the Bible. Even though your interpretation isn't supposed to never change. The Bible is eternal and inerrant, your interpretation isn't.

The Bible doesn’t mention the concept of relevance. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever Hebrews 13:8. Isn’t that who your “Christian” church is established on? Rick Warren’s a chameleon, a people pleaser, a wolf in wolf clothing. Notice HE makes it work, not God. God grows a church, Rick. Not you. I guess you did grow your church since it’s not a Bible believing and teaching Christian church but a business based on psychology, business techniques, communism, ecumenicalism and compromising. The Christian Church is built on Jesus Christ not the man made techniques you espouse. Large churches aren’t necessarily an indication of success in the last days. Read Matthew 24. You won’t hear about eschatology in Rick’s church.

5:30 wow, someone should call him out on that! Is this from his CFR conferences? So Monsanto is justified and a great idea to be genetically altering our food? Then us? Then comes the dna altering chip, that he's surely going to advocate in order to adjust our mentality and make us better learners/leaders….. stay relevant, take the Google Chip! 7:34

Truth is the standard for relevance. Truth IS relevance. This is worldly rhetoric. Peter Drucker was a NON believer which Rick attributes the success of his ministry to an unsaved man. Who is not born of God is born of the devil. Anyone else see a problem here?
