Man, there's nothing worse than screaming "oh yeah! this is NOICE!" only to pull up a belly hook..did that a couple times last weekend. I know I'm late to the party but, I've learned to keep quiet before I make an ass of myself lol

Hey, I fish the detroit river and St clair almost exclusively. I have a 16ft aluminum deep v, with a 50hp yamaha. it does have floors and casting deck installed as well as a steering column. I have a 2hp electric trolling motor on her and it struggles with that st clair current. Im really wondering whether my trolling motor just isnt up to par for my setup (2000lb max with gear) or if theres just a potential problem with my trolling motor? The prop is a little stiff when off, ive greased it and it seemed to help a bit. Just looking for a second opinion.

OK, so.....spot lock is not a good option when jigging on the river, correct? I'm thinking because the boat would be in the same spot, but the jig would not, yes? Thinking about do the Detroit River for the first time this spring. Thanks for your help. Liked and subbed.

Last spring up at the mouth we found a slow rise control fall cadence worked best. Always changing it up till we find what works best. Keep at the filming liking the action

Is anyone else pulling up ass wipes while jigging the Detroit river ? I pulled up 4 the other day and they get stuck on your hooks have to pull them off. Some municipal is dumping too much untreated sewage obviously

most times they hit on the way down..if you dont have your line tight you will miss the set

keep your line tight on the way down and you will catch more

That pole seems awfully light to be jigging walleye in the D, youll never land a 8+ lber with that thing

You need to check out Lance Valentine especially for the Detroit River.

why don't you just use SPOT LOCK or ANCHOR on your Trolling motor??

Because the boat has to drift with current, not stay in one spot.
