Ten months later and I'm still making both Shirota and Reuteri 6475 separately as 36 hour "yogurt". I boil 4 quarts half & half in an "Instant Pot" to denature it first. Then I take the lid off and let it cool to under 100* then add the starting culture, stir and set to yogurt, cover with paint strainer lid, and forget it for 36 hours. The culture moves to the temperature it prefers, away from the 104* at the bottom to cooler temp at the top. I throw nothing away. Just stir and mix the super thick yogurt before I jar it. At 76 my skin is not thick, but way better and damages less. Now I live next door to my daughter and her family. I'm happy to do all the yard work for both of us. I never have dinner at daughter's as I follow Dr. William Davis plan pretty closely.

It would appear that these bacteria are not killed by stomach acid, or at least that given a high enough dose, some survive to populate the upper gastrointestinal tract. Am I understanding that correctly? Might it be more effective to place the bacteria in a capsule that’s relatively more resistant to degradation, so that the capsule opens where you want the contents to be deposited?

Biogaia Gastrus has 2 strains of _L. reuteri_, while Biogaia Protectis contains only one of the two. However, the latter is readily available in Canada, whereas the former is not. 🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 🧬 Experiments with animals show potential for age reversal by connecting circulatory systems. 💊 Lactobacillus reuteri supplementation demonstrated various health benefits, including thicker fur and accelerated wound healing. 🍔 Mice on a fast-food diet supplemented with L. reuteri stayed youthful compared to those on the diet alone. 🥣 Making yogurt with specific strains of L. reuteri yields significant health effects, including smoother skin and increased muscle strength. 🛌 Extended fermentation of yogurt at lower temperatures increases bacterial counts and biological effects. 🥥 Dairy-free options for making L. reuteri yogurt exist, though they require additional steps and attention. 💡 Temperature control is crucial for successful yogurt fermentation, with sous-vide devices being recommended. 🌱 Prebiotic fibers like inulin powder can enhance the richness and thickness of homemade yogurt while minimizing dairy-related issues. Certainly better to make the yogurt than buying Biogaia's probiotic. In the long run it's less expensive. I followed Dr. Davis's instructions using a 2-liter Luvele Pure Plus yogurt maker (recommended by another promoter of health maintenance and improvement methods who credits Dr. Davis) and got it right the first time. (And Luvele isn't jacking their prices up that I'm aware.) With the qualification that I'm changing other lifestyle factors in a healthful way, I'm experiencing much better sleep, even in what's barely two weeks since I started eating the yogurt.
