Interesting stuff, great story. I kind of disagree with the conclusion though - the rise of fantasy sports with their quick dopamine hits and and fine tuning of the gambling industry to hook addicts causing a massive problem is my conclusion - although if you're running a multi-billion dollar company, don't let a single person have complete oversight and control of your expense account. To quote Jim Chanos (via the FT) "The betting numbers have continued to be strong in the US, stronger than we thought they’d be,” he told the Financial Times. “The thing that we underestimated - that I think is going to be a benefit for all these companies for a while anyway - is what bad bettors the US gamblers are.”
