How to steam a 5 inch Simplex live steam locomotive

I had the pleasure of speaking with Martin a few times before he passed away. He was known as Martin mistakes because of the errors on his drawings. Despite his mistakes Martin just as LBSC before him made the hobby what it is today. Simplex is one of the finest engines to cut your teeth on. Happy steaming my friend.

I use Welsh steam coal in the beans size.

@@WheresRobert Arh yes I used that before and that stuff is actually the Welsh anthracite not the Welsh dry Steam coal which is different and softer. I now use mostly the Welsh Dry steam coal as lights a bit easier.

Hi, most are built and run by model engineers but yes they can be bought second hand. A simple search online should reveal some results of models available for sale.
