HOW TO: Steering wheel removal (Peugeot)

In this PIGGYPOWER "how to";
Safely remove your steering wheel!
Replace that broken, old, worn out steering wheel... or maybe its to access something behind, dash removal, many reasons, simple steps.
I am demonstrating this on a Peugeot 206, but many other Peugeot sand Citroen's are similar...plus other manufacturers are in principle.

Piggy Power it looks like somebody got hungry and decided to eat parts of it, one thing i didn’t notice right away is I had the older style where you have to release it from 2 sides and pull the bar to the side the 206 gti is a much simpler design

Quick one, finished the repair but wheel doesn’t quickly self centre like it used to. Not really a big issue, car drives straight, but just wondered if I’ve done anything wrong

@@alexhoward7627 self centering is do with the caster and wheel alignment, nothing to do with the steering wheel UNLESS it's running badly somehow

Hi! Great video! i have a small question. When you but back the steering wheel and center withe the blank channels inside of the knob, the whole steering wheel fits perfectly? I put back my steering wheel without any effort and a i still see that is not entering full even though I apply some force. Is not enough? Where is the catch?

I have no idea, sorry. Without being there and seeing it. I'm not entirely sure what you are asking...so can't picture the problem Take it off again, check everything. Try again 👍

Hi Piggy , another helpful vid...I have to replace the clock spring mechanism on a 405 diesel, (airbag light on , horrid ribbony graunching and engine temp guage not functioning Keeps popping the fuse they both share!)Is the initial proceedure the same and is there any thing to be aware of re clock spring swop...Thank you

Take your time. Be ready for fiddly things. The mechanism itself will probably just fling out if it's broken, so watch out for that

Hello.. I have a 307 01-05 and would like to upgrade my steering wheel bcuz it's crooked.. Do you know what other possibly smaller wheel would fit? Airbag plugs are different in the ph2 model so I am really confused I don't know what steering wheels to look for🤔🤔🤔

Which wheel is better is personal...it's your choice...and then based on your choice you will need to find an adapter that matches the choice if wheel and vehicle 👌🐷

You need early 206 for early 206... Or late for late from my experience. Can't swap to 306 ones as offset is wrong

Hi! I'm about to remove the steering wheel on my Peg, due to lever reparation. But mine is an 207 sw (1.6vTi 2008), would this look/be the same on my model? Or is there any difference between the 207 -2008 and your 206, regarding steering removal? /Alguien

Very similar ideas. There maybe two torx screws holding it on, or two clips, likely screws/bolts. Just ensure it's all safe first and carefully inspect

Hello piggy power! If i take a leather wheel from a 2004 206 Gti with the newer airbag connector style, could i swap the leather wheel onto my older 206, with the older style connectors? Assuming I use my current airbag? Thanks very much - adam, nottingham

Unlikely to be compatible, esp with the buttons or airbag system

Perhaps because the 206 and 2008 steering wheels are vastly different to be honest... Unknown grey clip I'm afraid. Likely a little clip to hold it on

You'll need to have a t50 torx or similar to get it off. Having a torx set in your toolbox is a good idea 👍☺️🐷💪
