I leave 4 rolls of toilet paper, 2 rolls of paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, shampoo, a few candles, a transit pass with a few bus and ferry tickets on it, a 10$ gift card to the neighborhood coffee shop, maps, tea, coffee, bottle of water in the fridge, some fresh flowers and basic condiments. 👍

I'm taking note of your tip with the refillable clear bottles for dish soap and shampoo. I have an upscale rental for one or two people and i would put a new bottle for each stay and then use the leftovers myself but it would be less wasteful to just top up those instead 👍

One of my favorite Airbnbs is in York, England and while there I discovered Faith in Nature products and have been buying them on Amazon mainly for myself but they also sell bulk. When I finally get those Amber bottles I am going to also get Faith in Nature in bulk for my rentals.

Love your channel! Extremely helpful as we are launching our first STR. On the subject of restocking, do you think hosts should always refill soap to the top and start with a new roll of toilet paper and paper towel after each guest. What can we do with all the leftovers papers?
@kyleeandsteven2 жыл бұрын
Congrats on starting your first STR! We like to see soaps and shampoos refilled to the top each time. Toilet paper and paper towels we’ll reuse if there’s still a good amount left on the roll. TP gets a “pixie stamp” (google that 😊) or one of our cleaners makes a little flower (which we’ve yet to be able to replicate lol) and they usually take the almost-gone rolls home with them. They have some special folds for the paper towel rolls, too, and almost-gone paper towel rolls get put in the supply closet for cleaning use.

@@kyleeandsteven thanks you, that makes sense! Just a suggestion, we would love to see a deep dive on creating a listing on Airbnb and Vrbo. I was trying to create a listing while we are still furnishing and continue to work on the details of the listing, but found out there are very limited options available for edit before “publishing”, but after publishing, you only have like a day to figure out the details before the world sees it😱 any tips on what decisions we should consider in advance and which settings are critical to include? Thank you so much! Please keep doing what you are doing, i admire your courage to start a KZbin channel from zero, and I think you guys have great stories and insights to share!

@@clairelamoureux3463 You can publish your listing with some dates blocked out... Only make it available in the calendar at the date when it will be ready... Then people can still book while you are preparing it. Put up pictures of what is ready as you go. That's what i did with my listing in Québec this summer. I notice your last name, fellow québécois hosts? 👋

Its a small cost that will add up but for someone starting out its gonna take a nice chunk of your budget you get especially if your only getting maybe 1 booking a month or so, but if your fairly booked then yeah all those amenities is just a drop in the bucket. Hotels aren't even this generous at some establishments, you get the toilet paper of course, and a pack of coffee and some soap which is a small bar
@mamabar6811 Жыл бұрын
Yes but airbnbs are a different baby than a hotel. Hotels want to drive you downstairs to spend $ in their marketplace and restaurants. For what airbnbs lack in hotel like amenities (room service, on-site concierge, gym, spa, etc) they make up for in ways like what’s shown in this video. A more “home away from home” experience. And if you’re just starting out, you need to come charging out the gate 5 star ready. Otherwise, good luck competing with well established properties that provide all these amenities and more.
