One of the most educating videos I have ever seen on KZbin about guitar. You took the time to explain what a lot of channels assume is already known to the viewer.

I’m 74 and decided to take up the guitar. I was told that I should learn scales. I tried to. I almost had a nervous breakdown but I tried to. I saw this as a way of moving ahead and it was helpful. What would be super helpful would be Sean coming out with a course or vid or whatever which gets people like me into a position to make some music and sing some songs. I don’t want to be a Clapton or a Gilmore or a Richards (well maybe a bit of Keef). I just want to have a lot of fun and create a bit of noise. So Sean, I’m hoping you can look into your bag of tricks and help people like me out.

I haven't checked it out but Sean mentions his patreon page multiple times in the video where he has more detailed lessons. The link is in the description.

I've been playing for 30 years. I'd normally recommend learning scales and theory, but you described wanting to have fun. Scales aren't fun. So learn some basic chords, especially the movable ones, and some licks for solos. Once you learn one pattern, you can move it all over the neck. I'd suggest this guy's patreon. I haven't seen it. But he seems like the kind of guy who removes the bs from music.

Your video starts as if it will go nowhere, as if the “ordinary” (read mediocre) student will fall on wayside. As if nothing will be gained from at the speed at which you talk. And then the GBD spread over slowly at a speed in which the sound mesmerises your soul. You are hooked and from then on the music just keeps you busy. Suddenly it sounds when you Practice “RA-RA-rara-rera.” and then you hold a while to see what’s happening with the Aminor thing and then a truly unique Fmaj7 and even if the whole thing is not ready yet. Still it has given enough play stuff to keep one busy and extrapolate from their. Real Good one these. And yes the TrainWreckThing I couldn’t pickup at that speed but that’s just me it seems. Thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks.

When Garcia was asked how to learn the guitar he said learn the fretboard, obvious but not so easy at it seems, especially if one uses the CAGED system, however I have found that if one uses the Arpeggio system, and not try to memorise, it is much easier and quicker. I am impressed that this seems to be what you are teaching and gluing it all together. ( Have to put a shout out for your compadre Mr Stitch here too for his stitch method of connecting all the pentatonic patterns, which seems to be much the same thing).

I'm losing my Summer Vacation watching all your videos, Sean. I really appreciate you sharing your talent and time. Don't know if this recording is too old for a response, but I have a question. About the 6 minute mark you show a Minor 11 chord. It's a stretch for my chunky fingers, and I was wondering why you're even covering the lower E string? It's the same note as the open A, right? So open A; second finger 5th fret on D; third finger 5th fret on G; first finger 3rd fret on B. [Mute the high E?] It looks pretty much like an open Aminor, but up the neck a bit, and with a tiny stretch from the index finger.

I wrote the lyrics to my first song first, noticed they followed a sort of rythem, added a scale based solo hat followed the melody I fell into and then someone else added a chord progression and now it’s still in bits and pieces but eventually that will be a song. And I’ve only been at the guitar for 8 months. If I can do it then anyone can.

Please excuse my ignorance, but is there any way to know from which notes to start the slides that end in the notes of each chord? It is easy to know in the key chord and its relative major/minor as long as you know the minor and major escale, but is there a system for the rest of the chords whitin the same key?
