Great advices. As a side note, I would add that it is important to be able to estimate the effort to do your tasks. Underestimating the time required to do something is a very dangerous trap. Moreover, I would also recommend to set up time for resting (your eyes and your mind) throughout the whole day.

You're quite correct there, Gianpiero.

I hear this, I am definitely a task overloader… then once they’ve been on there too long to be effective I end up deleting them anyway… would be so much easier to just not add them to begin with 🙄

Indeed, but often when we add something to our inbox, we do want to do it. It's after we have reflected on it for a little while that we decide we no longer want to do it and that's perfectly fine.

I have made progress watching Carl’s videos. However, I still find myself sometimes getting off track with my calendars, reminders, etc….I use to be so organized I was helping others get on track. 😄 But, the one thing I have learned and I work at daily is trying not to let myself get stressed about not meeting my daily planned goals.

I always look at it this way: Tasks in my task manager are optional. Calendar are events mandatory (although I can reschedule them if I need to)

When I get back to work after holidays 2022, I will try NOT putting emails on my task list and just set a time to go through them. Let's see if that works. I often feel overwhelmed in the morning because that is when most of meetings are, and I want to reply before overseas colleagues leave. But do I need to? Will consider that as it may help with my overwhelmed feeling, thought it may trigger fear of missing something urgent.

I've found if you have a consistent time fore responding to your email, people quickly learn your routine and you soon become comfortable responding to mails once a day.
