How to Stop Caring About What Others Think of You
and Live a Life You Love
Do you ever find yourself caring too much about what others think about you? Worrying about what others think can keep you in a defensive mindset, which usually makes it challenging to live into your fullest potential.
One day, I was speaking with my mother when she made a comment about the neighbors (I was raised to be very concerned about what the neighbors would think and it wasn’t until I was much older and had been studying transformation for probably a decade when I broke free from that way of thinking).
I suddenly realized I didn’t care what the neighbors are thinking. I told my mother, “The neighbors are probably not even thinking about us - they're thinking about themselves! And even if they are thinking about us, so what? They don't live in this house. They aren’t living your life.”
You see, sometimes caring about what other people think can seep into every area of your life and have a much bigger impact than you might think.
Far too many people do or don't do things in order to gain what they think is love, approval, respect or acceptance from family, colleagues, friends, clients and sometimes even total strangers. Most people have been trained to do this from a very young age.

Thanks Mary! I can’t let people especially my family get to me- I have 2 important part time jobs and I’m just starting network marketing- and not making enough to survive sometimes- but, they’ve helped me tremendously!! ‘I’m mud’ - I don’t care what they think of me!! I am successful- I believe!

Thanks Mary for the step by step tools for having a happier life and stop seeking approval from others. My mother is the one person in my life that keeps me from having the life I want to live she thinks that dating and finding a loving partner is not right in her eyes or God's eye's or doing the things that I love doing in my life. My mother is elderly and is very religious and bases everything about her life in that way and expects me to live my life in the way she see's it thru her eyes. It is so frustrating for me. I have to see my life the way I want it to be and not thru her approval or way of thinking if I do then I will never be happy and be living the life I want to live . Have a wonderful day

Hello... Being a South Indian, I have been seeking my parents approval to marry the person whom I love. On the other hand my parents who are more stuck to the tradition can’t stop thinking what my community people would speak of them. This video I have watched it at the right time and I thank you. It’s true what u had said. I’m stuck between the two emotional packages. Sometimes I feel to give up , but then I realise I wouldn’t be happy in the life which my parents would choose for me... I have made up my mind to stay strong and try and make my parents understand. This is difficult ...

My take away from this video is, I am generalizing who I think cares about what I do rather than focusing and controlling on what I am doing being and understanding that I have control of my present being to be my authentic self. oh wow Mary If only I had known you twenty years ago I was forever and forever seeking my parents blessings on what ever I chose or discussed but I realise now I loved them way too much to fight them and at the times of all these major debates we had I always felt in my heart oh well God knew and he would provide me that same chance again some day I am still praying for that now in my 60s but oddly enough It doesn't seem to matter any more that some of these dreams were shut down I would give it all just to have mum and dad back and tell them all the many millions of things I have learnt since they have been gone may well be now that they can see very clearly they had a very special gift in me they just were not able to fully see at the time
