fyi using 2 med stims doesn't necessarily heal a mortal wound, you just have to use a stim and over-heal (for example, if you're at full health with a mortal wound you can use a stim to heal the mortal wound)

@@J.B.1982 best tactic if its not enough to overheal you, stay close to bulwark and try get executions/kills as soon as they plant a flag, you can regain full health that way as it gives contested health when first planted, then use the stim to overheal to get rid of the wound. With patch changes stims should also recover all contested health now rather than just base limit. Used at the right time in conjunction with the Bulwarks flag you can regain an entire health bar with a single stim if timed right. This is why I won't just instantly use a stim between fights to recover basic health.

For real, I can solo.... and I mean me vs everything when I'm power leveling friends on vanguard no problem. But when I get into a group of powered people where too many elites die fast and I don't get most of the executions to stay topped off so I don't have to use a med pack.... it's rough af.

My favourite combo for setting up gun strikes on minoris that works with most melee weapons (afaik) is dodge > attack > dodge away (for separation/safety) > gun strike. It's not fool-proof; like with all gun strikes you have to evaluate in the moment if it's safe to pull the trigger, but it's pretty reliable and keeps your armor topped up nicely.

A correction/elaboration: You clear a mortal wound by 'overcapping' your health using a stim, not just 'using 2'. If your HP is high enough, you can use a single stim and thereby exceed your max HP, which clears the wound. This makes the Bulwark contested health chain and the Heavy full-HP revive perk very valuable, as putting people to full HP makes it trivial for them to use a single stim to cleanse the mortal wound immediately.

Pretty much wanted to say this. Bulwark and Heavy become even stronger in ruthless for this reason; Heavy's ammo team perk is nice, but then so is the ability to pick someone up with full health and thus allowing them to clear their wound straight away. Both classes also have access to health-increasing perks (Bulwark by default, Heavy at lv 11), which allows them to full-heal whenever they use a loadout pod, and thus making it easier for them to heal their own wounds (this is presumably a bug due to perks/player 'recalculating' when a loadout is chosen; I can't imagine it's intentional).

@@SA80TAGE It was absolutely a thing prior to the patch, as long as you actually used the thing and selected a loadout (you didn't get the heal if you just stood near it, or if you interacted but got knocked off before you could select a loadout). It was fixed in today's patch though.

great tips thanks. I really like how challenging and punishing the game can be. What this game does fantastically is make a well-played space marine feel incredibly powerful, while punishing you for making poor tactical decisions. It really captures the space marine fantasy in my opinion. having to constantly outplay your opponents and overcome immeasurable odds through superior martial abilities and tactics, rather than just brute force. We aren't just supposed to be lumbering juggernauts, we are expert tacticians and soldiers, with experience and skills honed over decades, and sometimes even centuries of constant war against the most brutal enemies the galaxy has to offer. I think a lot of people were expecting space marines to be Doomguy, and just run and gun turbo-smash everything. but you have to be patient, intentional and methodical, one wrong move and you're toast, fitting in both lore and table top IMO. Once the combat flow clicks, it feels incredible.

I'm definitely not a pro but one tip I would give you is to just slow down. If you're surrounded dont necessarily immediately try to dash out and definitely don't start blindly swinging. I think one thing most people don't realize because it feels counter intuitive is that you can survive a bunch of the little guys hitting you. So if you're for example surrounded in a swarm of little guys and there are one or two elites just set your feet and wait for the elites to attack and then parry them. This will give you an opening to either swing at them or to swing at the swarm and thin them a bit. The game really slows down once you slow down your brain. It really is a rhythm like he says in the video

It's simple, use fencing weapons, get good with parry. I've been playing with Vanguard using dagger, and the +50% perfect parry windows perk make Ruthless a cake walk, I'm starting to think it's the best class in the game. And every class should have access to Dagger, it's so fast and so easy to parry with 😂

I think my only criticism is the lack of crouching and the fact that armor can barely take any damage and when you are fighting swarms of enemies, you often can't recharge your armor with finishers at the same frequency that you are taking damage.

The closest one top trick to make you unkillable I've found is... parry constantly. If you find yourself suddenly in the middle of a horde, random parries catch attacks constantly. Getting railed on by lots of majoris to the point it feels overwhelming? Don't dodge. It has a cooldown and a vulnerability window. Just spam parry.

This is good advice for which I thank you, will focus more on some points you mentioned. I do think however that the 'call for aid' system is too punishing when interception has failed and ranged dps is not balanced. In some situations you can have too much ranged fire tearing your shield and hp down in seconds.

This game reminds me of Doom Eternal, just with different classes that all play completely different to one another. The multiplayer in this game really is not something you can just "hop in". I did that, but refused to learn the combos, didn't manage my health and armor and just kept dying. The game builds you up in the main campaign, but the difficulty really kicks in on the operations in the multiplayer. I went for the Assault, just to realize i can't jump anymore. And i came directly from replaying the old Spacemarine 1, where you could jump the same in the multiplayer as in the main campaign. This game forces you to learn its mechanics significantly more than the old one. It's not a bad thing, just takes more time getting used to.

Taking your thumb off the stick and dodging will have you perform a back step as opposed to the roll. Has a bit of I frames that helps with ranged enemies. A lot less cumbersome than the dodge roll.

I've noticed if you accidently dodge a blue attack when you should parry it, you will have to dodge the following attacks and you end up dodging like 4 more times to avoid getting beat up

On the weapons front (balance v fencing), the only reason you'd take balance over fencing (and likewise block over either) is if the stats warranted. I'm not looking at the stats right now, but I feel like at relic level only the combat knife has balance stats that are worth taking over the fencing one. If I'm remembering right then for all other melee weapons the fencing weaps actually have the best stats too (well, I'm outright ignoring blocking weapons here as they're not great; personally even on perfect dodge assault I want to be able to at least balance-parry just in case; it's a useful tool to have in the arsenal).

The biggest tip is if your a Heavy, Tactic or Sniper hangin back and popping enemies into finisher stances. Don't kill em out right they will sit stunned for a good 30+ seconds. If you see close range fighters just leave them for em.

Just one issue with comment on the melee weapon combo’s, almost every single melee weapon type if not all of them are covered in the class trials, please for the love of the emperor do your class trials, by the time you finish them and get high ranks you will have a much better understanding of your class before you go into an operation. (You can also look at the combos in the trials I believe)

Regarding the mortal wound. Are you 100% sure it's two stims or is it just a stim which heals you to full health? With that meaning you being in a good enough state healthwise so that the stim will put you at 100% hp. Asking because another youtuber said that it's like that.

my pet peeve of the game is that when you gotta defend an objective and enemies come in wave and after waves. trying to survive is more frustrating than rewarding. minoris will swarm you, majoris will stunlock you, and range enemies will chip your damage up slowly. parry 1 thing, only to get bash in the head by another. not only that contested health reward is tied mostly to execution or gunstrike in order for you to gain all of them back but a charged up powerfist hitting 10 enemies at once only give me back 10% of HP while a melta gun hit 4 enemies and he got all the HP back. another big problem is the parry-able attack and non parry-able attack. the flash is a good thing but when you are being surrouded and you heard the attack you thought it a parry-able attack but nope, it a non-parry one so you lose large chunk of HP. it would be easier if they have 2 different sound effect because i dont have eyes or fast reaction enough to notice every thing in the front and the back. ngl i would rather have execution animation still taking damage with increased resistance to damage while doing so but you regain large chunk of HP back like in Space marines 1 the feel between the 2 game are vastly different too, SM1 you feel like Gear of war mixed with God of wars because you ran much faster hit alot harder, SM2 feel like Gear of war mixed with Dark souls where you run slower and hit less hard.

I really think the devs should be in a client-side (so as to not put strain on the servers) training room, so we can try gear and stuff without having to enter a mission with other players. Would be great for testing combos or getting used to parry/dodge timing against certain enemies. Right now one of the only ways you can really do it is via trials, and not every weapon has a class trial that's set up for practicing it well, not to mention you can't choose what enemies you're fighting against. They could take it a step further and even give us damage numbers/information so we can see how different perk choices change output - but I feel like they want to keep that close to their chest, which is a bit disappointing.

This game is incredibly fun, but the learning curve is excessively steep. I really hope they introduce more tutorial-type mechanics for new players. As a solo player, it's taken me 60+ hours to discover most of what's in this video. Unless you really take a LOT of time to gain perks and learn the systems in Minimal/Average difficult, the game feels insurmountable when you're trying to upgrade your weapons and realize everything kills you in 3 hits in Substantial and above.

I was enjoying the game but now it’s just frustrating. I’m not a drummer or a pro gamer. It’s hard to get good when I try to use a class and have to constantly swap. Or when there a guys spawning around you while other are sniping from a distance. There is no time to figure out what you are supposed to do and when you play with bots or randoms it seems like I’m never one the same page. I didn’t have an issue with Remnant 2 combat or even the swarms of hell divers but I find this frustrating AF. Looked forward to playing tonight and now I don’t really want to

Sm2 balance of how enemy damage you and swarm you seem very very frustrating. parried 1 enemy, other majoris will beat yo ass once the animation just finish that doesnt allowed you to dodge yet because the animation doesn't allow you to. that 1 mili-second is what punished me which is annoying, i have slow reaction already. i can't just multi-task against ranged and melee all at once.

I hear you. I’m coming from a lot of Darktide and this is significantly different. I have disdain for dodge roll and I’m not a fan of parry. Still going at it and I’ll get better but I don’t know how long this can hold me. If they had an easier mode to be more relaxed and learn, that would be helpful. They will be putting in some kind of practice arena, which will be super helpful.

@@ZzVinniezZ you need players that actually play to their classes.... as bulwark I spend more time just blocking up front taking aggro (like the tank he is supposed to be) while a good heavy does most of the killing as I keep my back to a wall out of their line of sight. A good tactical can make all the difference too bringing down the time to kill.

Different combo attacks do different things. For example the Chainsword light attack combo is your bread and butter for hitting single enemies, while comboing into a stomp allows you to clear Minoris hordes quickly.

literally needed the execution on an enemy to regain half contested health, but full health teammate took the execution that I bled for.... a Carnifax spawned 1 minute later and that same guy fucked off ahead leaving 2 of us to deal with it. Ended up in a wipe as he died to a wave all on his own and I had to dodge a Carni while trying to revive my other teammate and survive till he respawned again after going down a second time, honestly the amount of selfish idiots in this game is unreal.

Probably should've mixed that first part into your tips video. New players are gonna be confused since you told them to focus down majoris enemies and now you're saying to widdle down multiple enemies over time.

I think my general combat tips video just said that the game tells you what the biggest threat on the field is, not that you need to focus down every major you see.

Warning: He's actually wrong. Two stimms doesn't automatically negate a mortal wound. What negates a mortal wound is GOING BEYOND 100% HEALTH. Depending on the difficulty, it might take only one stimm, or it might take three stimms when you're really low health. Stimms give less health when at higher difficulties.

Decided to take a break from drums lessons and watch some SM2 guides. Damn. P.S., there is no 3/3 signature, and 6/8 is a very common signature. If you look for weird, try 7/8 or 11/8. P.P.S., the guide is awesome and very helpful nevertheless.

When i play heavy i always leave executions for others but it's mostly a one way street sadly. I'm also really bad at the parry system so it's hard to stay alive but still fun if people have patience 😅

As a bulwark I stay ahead of my teammates (that don't run off like idiots) but off to one side with my back to a wall, giving everyone clear line of sight while I just block taking as much aggro as possible.

The janku ass parrying is garbage,i nail 2/3 perfect parrys on the first half of the indicator i have tested it at the clostest to the exact time (where talking fractions of a second) and missed when i nailed it twice before.... i tested in trail that has the 1 tyranid warrior. The parrying in this game is extremly inconsistent and for a horde style game thats a life and death thing.
