Great tips here! If you want ZERO latency I would suggest Direct or "Discreet" monitor mixing to completely eliminate latency....for good! Monitor outside of your DAW before the signal gets to the computer. Monitor EVERYTHING outside of the computer. That's the secret. Get a 6-8 channel non-powered mixer that has auxiliary or effect output buses with a summing channel. 1. Plug your mic into your Mixer Channel 1 2. Set auxiliary output to max for Channel 1 3. Send Mixer Auxiliary outputs to Audio Interface (Audio interface is connected to PC with USB/Firewire) 3. Plug the output of your Audio Interface into the summing channel on your Mixer (So you get computer sound into your mixer) 4. Turn OFF "Listen" or "Monitor" button in your DAW (So now your not hearing the vocal back from the PC) 5. Send headphone mix from mixer. ZERO Latency

Truth, however, I have worked with musicians, especially drummers, that notice even a 64 or 32 sample buffer. Best to use low latency mode and run the DAW as a side chain to the recording process. You can get zero latency with this method. (IE, the interface feeds your monitoring directly and you don't hear the signal through the DAW. At least until after it goes down, so only during playback. Worth mentioning in the video. Good job on it though!

I have been trying to figure it out for a week now, with no plugin's, there is no feedback in the headphones and you cannot hear your voice, with the plugins in, there is ridiculous latency, that only happens after you speak a couple lines... bro quick question everytime I put the beat into the protools and play it it always slowwwwww it down why? how to fix this?
@JakeLewisReal4 жыл бұрын
It's most likely a sample rate problem. Be sure when you're importing the beat into Pro Tools that you convert the audio to match your session settings. For example, if you import a 48k sample rate beat into a 44.1k sample rate session without converting, it will sound slow, the opposite is also true.
