My rear brakes squealed so bad it would scare pedestrians! I followed your directions and solved the problem. 4000 miles later they are still not squealing. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It's much appreciated.

Going to try this on my bike. See if this is the cause of the squeak I'm chasing down. Cheers ✌️& thank you. Best wishes & same to all who see this.

I've just bought a KTM 390 Adventure, and it had the squealing brake problem on the front wheel. I brought it back to the dealer, he applied the very same fix you've described, and the squeal is gone. Thanks!

Lubrication is amazingly helpful in many instances.

update : squeal came back 2 days later albeit softer, the next fix was to re-torque all 6 bolts on my new rotor evenly, using the star points configuration, i.e opposite bolts from one to the other. so far so good.

One thing I noticed today. So if you are doing slow speed practicing on a hot day. After I greased the backs o f the pads. If you are really using the rear a lot (in my case) It will still squeak once the rear brakes get really hot. Once it cools it will still be quieter. Maybe that makes no sense but that's what I've found so far.

My husky doesn’t bother me, but I’m sure everyone thinks I’m an idiot while I let out long drawn out sequels. Perhaps I’ll try the front break for a change.

it gets annoying overtime, mine's killing me for few months now, break cleaner just settle it down few days and it'll be back again, will have to get down on it if i have time.

Would this be the same steps to change the pads when they get worn? Just remove and replace or is it more involved. I have a brand new motorcycle that has a back break squeak. It started at about 100 miles. Just the rear. I have about 250 on it now but so annoying and 2 weeks before first service. Thanks so much!

I have a question. My rear brake squeaks very loud and the disk gets very hot very fast. Does it mean i need new brake pads?
@sampohlmann15033 жыл бұрын
The brake is too strong, bleed some of the oil. Fix the problem immediately

huh, same thing i do on my car brakes but for some reason didn't think to do this on my bike.

Applying lube to the metal backing plate may or may not help. There is no guarantee this will work, but there is a high likelihood of its working... so give it a try.

@@TomGlanderI think the noise was coming from the tabs where the pads "slide". greased up that part and the backing plates, no more squeal :)

Isn't the noise generated by actual pads contacting disc ? Thanks
@TomGlander5 жыл бұрын
Chopbreaka vibration is the culprit. Pads don’t squeal. The metal backing starts vibrating.

@@TomGlander Don't they squeal if glazing is present on the pad? Mine are squealing after proper lubing brand new pads and everything. I'm gonna get the rotor resurfaced because it has pretty noticeable grooves that are causing the glazing.

Alexander Seling you’re most likely right. Glazing isn’t a good thing.

Good point. It's like back seat driving. I can always point out the failure of the driver after the fact. "Hey, you missed the exit. If you'd have been paying attention, you wouldn't have missed it." Yea, I wasn't paying attention while making the video. Not sure how doing a "before" would have helped fixing the problem. Maybe put the sound in perspective? The professional film makers get that kind of feedback all the time. "You should have done it like this, or like that." It's all good, man. Appreciate the insight.

Really. Why would he have gone through the trouble of making this video if it didn’t work? If only those supporting Ukraine had a BEFORE and after.

Looks like KTM and Husqvarna(Brembo & Magura) effed up. For the price we pay? Nothing serious but come on. I know Magura makes dogS clutch master cylinders. Mine went out in 3 months. I avoided KTM because the colors were too flashy. Still I’m drawing a lot of attention.
