Springfield Armory just sent me an e-mail about stopping SB 1657. Hopefully it doesn't go through, and SA will learn from this incident. Lowering the prices on all their guns would be a good start =D. On a serious note, I thank you for posting this up. They can't be allowed to get away with this without being repercussions.

Hank, I concur that if SA and RRA have done what is alleged that we should stop buying their guns and tell our LGS to not carry their guns. I do think that the NRA should take a stance on this because it is their job to represent it's members (I am a member) on legal issues involving gun control/2A issues in our country. I don't know that they will put any messaging out on this right away until they get all the facts. The NRA does have the power to put pressure on both SA and RRA like they did back in 2000 when they helped incite a consumer boycott that nearly destroyed S&W.

Hank, I appreciate your support for us here in Illinois. I keep seeing supposed 2A supporters out there say that we brought this on ourselves by electing these politicians. They have no idea how things run in Illinois. Illinois is run by the Chicago Democrats and therein lies the issue. Those of us outside of Cook County have very little say in what happens in this state. That's the political climate. I don't believe there is any state in the country that is like Illinois (maybe New York with NYC). Here's something for those out there who claim that the Republicans are pro-2A. Well, one of the 'yea' votes on SB1657 was from a REPUBLICAN! Obviously that senator had no problem selling out his constituents or perhaps he is just another anti-2A politician (he is from one of the collar counties of Chicago). For all those who claim Illinois is another California, let's look at what has happened in the past five years regarding 2A-related legislation. Illinois enacted a carry law, a SHALL ISSUE law. California and New York have MAY ISSUE law. The Chicago handgun ban was shut down as a part of the carry law. This ban had been in place for over 30 years. Illinois, outside of Cook County, does not have any limitations on semi-automatic rifles, no magazine limits and with minimal requirements, have the ability to own short barreled rifles (suppressors and fully automatic are still banned). There are magazine limits and 'assault weapons bans' in many other states and yes, Chicago, Cook County and a few Cook County municipalities have these as well but Illinois as a whole does not. This particular bill is nothing new, other than the fact that information about two firearms manufacturing companies have been called out as so-called supporters. Anti-2A bills are brought up constantly in the Illinois General Assembly and the vast majority of them are shut down in committee. This one has gone further and yes, it is troubling. However, there is still a vote in the House. Finally to those who keep saying 'well just move', STOP IT! Moving out of state does not help anybody. Illinois has some members of Congress who are in full support of the Second Amendment. They are from downstate and do what they can to help offset the Congressional members from Chicago. If the supporters of the Second Amendment were to move out of Illinois, this could cause those Congressional members to be defeated in elections by anti-2A politicians. The same thing goes for those in California, New York and other blue states. The more Democrats that are in Congress, the higher the chance of a future 'assault weapons ban', this time with no expiration date and no grandfather clause. National politics are determine by who each state sends to Washington DC. Those of us in blue states do still have some representation at the federal level. Sorry Hank for the long winded comment. The one problem I find with your argument is when you go out and hire inform a Lobbying firm to lobby for you they're going to go out and they're going to lobby for exactly what you want they're not gonna go rogue and do what they want because then their money gets cut off and I get hung out to dry so I'm putting money on the fact that this Lobbying firm was doing exactly what Springfield wanted they got caught with their hand in the fucking cookie jar and now they're going to pay

A friend of mine was going to buy a gi 1911a1 from Springfield armory I talked him out of it and told him to buy a Tisas made in Turkey gi 1911 he did it has a forged frame slide and barrel for 349.00 half the price of a springer and got ammo and a biacchi leather holster for and still had a 100 bucks left.Great pistol slide is tight on the frame and it shot everything we fed it including hard cast lead reloads.Screw those two company's they can keep their guns both are over priced.

Everybody needs to write the company. Do not buy any of their guns. If you sell your used gun that is one gun they wont sell because they bought yours and not a new gun. But make sure you write them and tell them you wont buy another gun. Good show BTW.

This is one of the things I recognize immediately about your channel. While gun reviews are usually very focused on the positives you do give a lot of the negative and the overall perspective which I respect. Unfortunately like you said a lot of people don't understand the slippery slope this bill might process. The fact that the Second Amendment is constantly under attack is sad enough but quite honestly the fact that any gun manufacturer would either carve out an exemption for themselves or have lobbyist who do not share the overall appreciation for the Second Amendment and would make a decision which would ultimately erode that right is horrendous and should be punished. You've probably seen a lot of my Facebook post about boycotting celebrities not enriching their lives because they are hypocrites Springfield Armory and rock River arms are hypocrites. Unfortunately this is what the world is turned into we have to injure the whole of a company to not only express our outrage but to ensure that companies think twice before caring about their bottom line!
