Welcome to Hellinois, the state where 2 of our last 3 Governor's have gone to prison.

Gov. Geaorge Ryan was sent to prison for taking bribes as the Secretary of state in IL. He was caught because a husband and wife lost their kids in accident cause by a truck driver that bought his license. Rod Blagojevich was a sitting Governor that was taped trying to sell the Senate seat left open when Obama ran for president.

There seems to be a lot of confusion of where we actually stand on this matter in the comments section. I try to present the facts to the best of my ability and allow people to think for themselves. I personally will no longer purchase products from either of these companies ever again. The writing is on the wall and it's quite clear that they tried to sell out the competition not to mention the fine citizens of Illinois and got caught playing crooked. The fight isn't over and we aren't done fighting for Illinois, but our official stance is these companies can pound sand.

People need to realize that this isn't only anti-2nd Amendment, it is anti-capitalist! This excludes big box stores and only applies to small individually owned gun stores! The way this could get overturned is possible appealing it, if passed, on anti- monopoly terms... Fight it and actually read it, this is all about eliminating competition for big box stores that they can more easily control.

It's about time the gun community came together for the commie states. Unfortunately, it takes something like this in which a large manufacture did something wrong. To get people to come out. Just because Trump is President, people believe we can relax out stance on firearms. Now is the time, to really fight. Sure, we don't need to worry about some federal gun laws come down the pike. But at the State level a lot of damage can and will surely occur. Only 9 Transfers per year. That's crazy that violate Federal Commrace laws.

As for the stopping of the gangs and criminals. taking away the guns from the law abiding citizens does nothing. the bad guys had the guns to start with and probably didn't get the legaly. so in what logic does taking them away from safe gun owner provide a safer country? why should we allow those scared and afraid to dictate what the strong and ready to fight are allowed to do? what it all come down to is were all Americans and we can't just be stepping on each other and expecting it to all work out. As they said a house divided will not stand.

Thank you both for covering this. I have a few comments and I live in IL and am close to what is going on. Last I knew.... 1. The owner of Springfield Armory, Dennis Reese. Is a director of the IFMA. 2. The Co-chair of Springfield and brother of Dennis Reese, Thomas Reese, is a director of the IFMA. 3. Chuck Larsen, President of Rock River Armory, is a director of the IFMA. 4. The Executive Director (who is the lobbyist) and founder of the IFMA is a family friend of the Reese family. 5. The Executive Director of the IFMA lives in a upper class condo in downtown Naperville, IL. An affluent suburb of Chicago 6. The bill has within its language, for instance. If you were an armorer in the US Military and you get out and want to start your own business doing smith work. You would have to work for another FFL for a minimum of 1 year before you could become an FFL in the state of IL. 7. The oversight organization they look to build would need around 35-40 employees minimum with at least 25 full time inspectors in order to do a YEARLY INSPECTION of EVERY FFL IN THE STATE. This is in the bill. The cost of the license will be determined by the cost of the program. The more FFL's that drop from the program, the more the license price goes up to cover the cost to support the program. So, the license will get exponentially expensive as people drop out until the license becomes so expensive that the last few hundred simply cease operations in the state. 8. The talking points on that bill are far more intricate and deadly than Eric and Chad were able to go into. It is a death sentence bill.
@TheHandHistoryVault7 жыл бұрын
Like Eric and Chad care to do actual reading work. This whole video is "Support the NRA', which is laughably ignorant. The NRA have done far worse than these two companies.

that statement needs to be proven with facts to me. I live in tx and am daily asked for donations to support the rnc. I do not intend to support anyone unless they do something to help me in tx. Me, and both my sons are life nra members and I support the nra , it has many venues like childrens programs that you can not find in any other organizations. They do however appear to spend the most time trying to help the citizens in areas that the citizens are to busy trying to make a living rather than electing better politicians. Only when the citizens become more involved in the political process will things change. this video is a way to make the uneducated aware of what is happening and it is appreciated.

@DOA2207 жыл бұрын
They will survive, but it is not about killing them off completely, it is about making them feel it in the sales. Make their pockets not feel as full. When they have their quarterly corporate briefs with pie/flow charts of projected and past sales, make that needle plummet. Make that CEO spit his coffee out in anger and frustration when his sales aren't as high as Sig's or Glocks. Make them feel regret when they hear that they fucked up.
@woodchuckcider18707 жыл бұрын
Ruger and Smith Wesson were a bit better off. During that time 1994 there wasn't such a large internet and social media presence to blow the whistle on these things.

S&W and Ruger still felt it Took S&W almost 8 years to recoup their stocks back to what it was pre-ban...same for Ruger. As well as, many people in both companies were fired. All of S&W upper management was subsequently fired. Bill Ruger who testified to Congress, subsequently retired in 2000 and died in 2002. When Mike Piefer took over Ruger, the company did a complete 180 turn. And Mike is retiring from Ruger the end of this year (2017). And yet people still haven't forgotten what occurred in 1994. SA and RRA will survive this, however, it's going to be a long road for them to recoup things.

Austin Page IIRC, they cut an idiotic deal with Clinton's Justice Dept. in the last 2 years of his term. Clinton had been leaning on all the big gunmakers at that time. It was an utter disaster: it turned into a PR mess and was a massive sales disaster. The backlash was such that no other gunmakers made a similar deal with the admin. The end result was S&W being sold by the British company that owned it at the time to a US investment firm after Bush II was inaugurated. The deal was scrapped and S&W promptly came out with the .50 S&W Magnum, as an apology I guess!

1st of all I wanna say THANK YOU for shining a light on some of the crap that Illinois residents go through. We are constantly getting hit with wave after wave of anti gun legislation. I appreciate you guys reaching out to try to keep us from drowning. Some days I feel like quitting and moving to another state. But with kids and a wife that wants to live close to family the move won't be easy. So everyone please! If you can call, write, and email these politicians. Thanks again.

The Weapon Collection AFAIK, the "ban" is all but unenforced. Sheriffs aren't arresting anyone and nobody is getting in trouble for having 16+ rounders brought in from out of state.
@mruler3607 жыл бұрын
The Weapon Collection Not to mention very few companies stamp/mold dates into their mags so it would be very difficult for a prosecutor to prove a "high capacity" magazine was bought/brought into the state after the ban.

Well most of us in CO already had a shit ton of mags and magpul was selling CO residents packs of 10 for like 90$ before the ban

So happens I live in Illinois, and am deeply concerned about this and other legislation that has been put forth in our state. I am a college student, and I regularly watch the iraqveteran8888 channel. I had the privilege this year of being involved in Model Illinois Government, an organization that allows college students from various universities and colleges to go to the Capitol in Springfield and participate in an accurate simulation of our State Government that involves taking the roles of actual legislators. I was a Republican in the House of Representatives, and I was designated the Committee Spokesperson for the Firearms and Transportation Committee, on the Minority side of course. All I can say is that I found it extremely difficult to deal with Democrats on gun issues, and it was especially frustrating to know that barely anyone even on the Republican side had any firearms experience. This bill being discussed is a perfect example of some of the absurd legislation that I had to fight against, in many cases on my own. I applaud iraqveteran8888 for helping Illinoisans combat the overwhelming influence of Chicago. The Democrats are afraid of anyone that knows anything about firearms entering the Capitol prepared to argue against them on a gun bill. The truth is our most powerful weapon, and all they have is a flimsy party line. I sometimes wonder why all the Democrats were shy when talking about guns around me. I think I know why. Anyway, thanks for all you guys do! I love the 600 yards videos. Do a Type 38 Arisaka for me. I'd like to see what it could do.

Great discussion. Thank you for taking the time and addressing this important issue. I'm very disappointed based on what we know, however I also do agree that we can't be separated. I'm curious as to what the future holds and how we all move forward from this and become stronger, together.

I'm hearing a lot of tough talk. Does this mean that Moss Pawn and Gun will no longer carry Springfield or Rock River?
@RCHanlin7 жыл бұрын
Guys I'm so glad you got around to this issue. I first heard of it from Ski at the AK Operator's Union site where he REALLY made his feelings known (lol)... I'm an FFL here in Georgia and even though I'm not directly affected by this bill, I sent letters to both SA and Rock River voicing my concerns and to let them know that I plan to boycott their products in my shop. I received a response from both companies wanting me to contact them to "discuss" this issue further. Springfield Armory actually sent me a link to the NRA-ILA site basically stating their support for our 2A rights and to "Take Action"..! Ridiculous right?? Anyway Eric, I'm of the same mind you are and think both companies knew exactly what they were doing and now they see how this might truly hurt them in future sales and are pulling a Hillary Clinton..... Too late IMO... they've already screwed the pooch and there aint no going back...!

I grew up in Southern Illinois and loved it. Got into firearms about a year or two before I left for college in a free state. By the time I graduated, I realized how much better the firearms laws were in my college state, as well as the state in general. I've never moved back. Starting a family now, I realize that I never will. Thank goodness I went to an out-of-state school, since I never would have realized how bad IL was had I stayed.

@quodpipax7 жыл бұрын
25 feet equals = 7.62 meters. 7.62 equals AK. AK equals Russia. Makarov is a Russian gun. Your theory seems legit.

Its sad because I love my Rock River rifles. Great accuracy, great triggers (not Giesle great but good). I will no longer buy or support RRA
@kenmorrison17257 жыл бұрын
as an outsider I think EVERY American should support 2A regardless of whether you like guns or not. If the government manages to take part of all of that amendment away then they will go after other rights and amendment's that you do care about. As for Springfield and rock River I would vote with my feet and not buy from them ( at the moment ). it seems a bit sloppy to me if you are paying someone to do something and not keeping a close eye on what they are doing for your money.

Springfield and RRA saying they "are still against the bill" is a bold faced lie. They're opinion on the State's legislation comment page was "neutral", not "against".

To everyone else who is still on the fence. Join, call, write and contribute on promoting our issues and fighting the hypocritical ones! If every gun owner would get involved the only gun control left is the one you exhibit when shooting whatever you want to own at your favorite range/shooting area!

Regarding the RRA and SA issue, I would like to add my 2 cents. I understand everyone is pissed off and It is not great news to hear from them. However, they are 2 companies with great products and customer service. (I own their products and love them) I would like to give them a chance to redeem themselves. I would recommend, if you contact them, please be polite as the people answering the phone are people who work there and have families to feed and had nothing to do with the decision. Then politely communicate the message that you would like them to relay to their managers. If called enough, the companies will listen to their customers and will make things right. (In my experience with both firms with the products they sell, they have ALWAYS made things right with me, so why shouldn't they politically.) Hope this nonsense gets fixed as you want none of CA thinking in that state.

The nra should have a "no spam, no frills" membership option , I don't need your cheap hat and bags. it seems that a normal membership is only a way for them to sell your name to spammers and junk mailers.

Things on Video Q: How can I reduce the amount of mail I receive from the NRA? A: Simply email us at membership@nrahq.org or dial 800-NRA-3888 and request to be placed on the "Do Not Promote" list. This will significantly reduce the amount of mail you receive without affecting important mailings, magazine service, or your membership renewal.

I would like to hear y'alls opinion on House Bill 280. As a fellow Georgia citizen and a current college student I would like y'alls input. A few issues I see with this are not being legally carry in the offices of teachers and not being able to carry in classes with high school students. I wonder if they will ask us to check them with police.
