Lilou, I appreciate your ability to be open and accepting and be able to think at the same time. Personally, listening to Katie was roller-coaster. You asked great questions, pulling out more clarity in the interview. Seriously though, that a most trippy interview. You were steadily aware and open at the same time. Much respect. Looking forward to seeing an interview with you and Katie in person, when or if it happens.

Nothing short of AMAZING!! Thank you for doing this interview and I hope you catch her when she goes over there! "Our thoughts create our world...how can we love the world if we don't love our thoughts?" Love that! It's about taking responsibility for our thoughts, feelings, emotions and actions...No one makes me feel anything...I choose to believe my programming or to question it. I am moving through this world every day. The people I meet are moving through the world too and they may or may not be having their own experiences, I have no idea. I certainly can't pretend to know what other people think or feel. Where does that leave me then? In charge of my experiences and especially in charge of my responses. Everything else is beyond my control. I feel like all of the people of earth are me, just in a different form. If i had the same experiences I would BE THEM and I would respond in the way that they do. If they had my experiences they would BE ME. I don't know anything for sure really, and I could be wrong about this, but I feel that we're in this together and if we want to create a beautiful world we need reminders to hold us responsible for ourselves. We need role models and teachers that will guide is away from pointing fingers at others and instead get us to ask questions like: "What is my part in this? What can I do you make this situation better?"

We suffer because we resist suffering. To run away from suffering is to run toward it.
@xjessicahudson
@xjessicahudson 9 жыл бұрын
In other words, we only suffer because of our resistance. Release resistance & voilà.. All of a sudden, you feel sad, you feel pain, yet you don't mind it, you're not resisting the pain, so you don't suffer. You're at peace with being out of peace.

+sugarvenom Anger, fear, guilt, hatred, and all so called negative emotions when are manifested is already a suffering resisting them or not. Resistance only increases suffering and keep us entrapped in the egoic state and identified with the ego sense.
@xjessicahudson
@xjessicahudson 9 жыл бұрын
I disagree. I've been in negative emotional states without suffering, as long as I was 'into' the emotion opposed to resisting it I was fine.. full on anger, I was empowered not suffering, full on crying, I was relieved not suffering.. it's only when I try to avoid these negative emotions is when I start to suffer.. i suggest toying with it on a practical level... trust me, when you actually dive deep enough into the negative emotion, it doesn't hurt.. i used to think the same way as you did.. until i dove deep enough and realized.. these negative emotions don't hurt me if I'm with them completely.. they're not against me because I'm 100% with them.. you'll realize this when you do it.. I don't think there's anything wrong with the 'ego-state'. Everyone has one, and for good reason too... it's only there to protect us. If it protects me, why would I try to get rid of it? It keeps us safe, when needed. Keep an eye out for the ego coming through the 'back door' though.. i know a lot of people, including myself, who talk about being ego-less.. e.g "It's better to be ego-less than have an ego" etc... which is another way the ego validates ourselves being 'above' or 'better than' others. Lol it's almost like people become ego-full about being ego-less .. you get me? Happens to me all the time.. i see it in others too but they're unaware of it.
@atmannityananda-academia
@atmannityananda-academia 9 жыл бұрын
***** You disagree and so what. This makes you have correct understanding? You may think many things but this doesn't change reality. I don't speak about wrong and right good and bad. The negative emotions are painful by their nature. And psychological pain is called suffering! It is so simple. It is not possible to be angry and not suffer. If you like to cheat your self ok. If now you are 100% with them (the negative emotions) and accept them, this suffering becomes light but that doesn't make the experience blissful. Probably you don't know how is to be in profound peace and Bliss totally free from emotions. So you compare you previous state with this better state. You say that Your ego keeps you safe ? What is this you that your ego keeps safe? You have two selves, the you and the ego? Your ego wants to keep safe itself that's all. your real self doesn't need to feel or to be safe. Validation do not come always from ego. You must develop discrimination and intuition in order to know from where comes a validation. You must go deeper and deeper to understand what happens in every corner of your mind. Everything must become light in your mind if you want to see God. Nobody can become egooess just because wish it or tries to be egoless. This is only an imagination of the ego. Egoless is possible only for very very few after many years of intense sadhana, devotion, dedication and surrender to God. The majority all over the world imagines that is in a spiritual path while in reality they have not yet started the path; they think that they know while in reality they don't know that they don't know. Egoless state is possible at the end of spiritual journey when the ego dissolves in deep nirvikalpa samadhi and by the grace of God not before. Fast food enlightenment doesn't exist as may think westerns. Finally if you are content about your capacity to manage your emotions it is good for you, enjoy it, but this is not the end of the journey towards liberation and self-realization. All is well
@xjessicahudson
@xjessicahudson 9 жыл бұрын
I don't agree with some of your points and that's fine. I guess what works best for us is what we currently think works, mine's just based off of personal experience. I think instead of trying to convince each other what we think is right, we can hold our own 'truth' for the time being for what works best for us personally. If what I say doesn't relate to you, just throw it away, you don't have to take it. I'm just expressing my experiences with suffering.. and they still run true for me personally. I just want others to think twice about negative emotion.. they're not all that bad. They provide contrast too, which makes the 'positive' emotions more enjoyable and valuable.

A 4-step system of structured inquiry into a particular problematic thought, 1: Is it true? 2. How can you be sure it's true? 3. How does this thought make you feel? 4. How would your life be without this thought? Then you question and turn around the answers.

Forgetting the Past/Future is hard/impossible to accomplish since our Past is useful because it enables us to learn from our mistakes and prevent similar mistakes to happen again and thinking about the Future was always necessary to prepare or make plans for tomorrow, so humans who obsessed about the future were selected as this was a good trait to have.

+Daniel Jahn Damn--- AMEN.. I feel that. I hate to say it, but maybe I AM looking for a 'cult'... I want someone with all the answers to put me at ease & draw me in. Sadly, I think if I'm not "lucky" enough to be that 'nuts' or gullible, life is what it IS.. It's not easy, nice, or pretty & we all need to suck it up. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger and we need to go on... No matter how deep we look, be the best person you can, no one person has our answers...

Based on reactions I would always invite people to write out a Judge Your Neighbor worksheet on Katie in this video, then try the questions for yourself. It's YOUR answers to the questions - no one telling anyone what to believe when doing self inquiry. Nothing else is possible. No fear in that unless we fear to face what we find in our own mind. Judge her on paper, ask 4 questions, turn it around and see what comes up. You deserve peace. Everyone does.

Does it make you slow down, seek healing, remind you of our mortality and stop taking life for granted, return to basics and take responsibility for your life ? Does it help you dig inside and find courage, be gratful for small thing, humble you, attract help and support, motivate you o get creative and get real ? I promise you that the blessing is there but you must be willing to look for it.

Global warming? What the heck? For the last 10 years the glob has been cooling. It will always get either warmer or cooler. Neither should be considered a problem. Nothing is at a stand still ever. Change is the only thing that is constant. The loss of our frosts could be stopped instantaneous if we would only plant industrial hemp. That could also replace fossil fuel, and basically everything that we make out of cement, plastic and wood. And when it has served its purpose it can be recycled.

The Work dismantles the monkey mind every time. Crazy Monkey Mind...."Imagine if this happens, or that happens, everything is going to Hell!!!". Inquiring Mind response..."Is that true, can you really know it is true...right here, right now"? Crazy Monkey Mind response..."Well, no". Inquiring Mind response with a gentle voice....."Take a deep breath and let it go". Then refocus on something else...music, readying, a movie. The Monkey Mind has an amazingly short attention span. Question what you are believing...always. This is what works for me.

This seems Eckhart Tolle's stuff being changed from Now into Work, only in unclear way. I listened to Eckhart for 3 years and visited Sailor Bob Adamson, Non-Duality teacher (Advaita), he told me I was already that & 3 months after that my ego completely disappeared. There is only one moment since - the Present Moment. Bob leads you directly to recognition with his pointers. He is disciple of Nisargadatta Maharaj. Fancy enlightenment that costs $20 bucks only. No nonsense workshops and such c.ap. It says how genuine it is. The other guy who spreads peace and love is Braco with his Gaze. He doesn't speak but gazes at people for a few minutes. He is only channeling what the Source sends. There will be free live streaming in September online. It is also free - another genuine thing.

I have no doubts "The Work" can readily give someone overburdened with thoughts a good shot in the arm and provide welcome insight into troubling relationships. But the ultimate Liberation or Self Realization with surrender to Pure Consciousness won't follow. That requires persistent and regular meditative Self Inquiry.

In fact, about two years ago, Lilou did an interview with Mooji about the topic of Self Inquiry through the "I am" practice. I don't think she grasped what he was getting out ( though I could be wrong) but if that was the case I'd hope she's evolved since then.

Has she admitted that herself? It's really obvious. And the worse part is, we are all expected to deal with our stuff ourselves, when all this woman had to do is go somewhere else and let some other entity take her place in her body. We real people can't just pop out of our depression the way this lady is trying to make it look. She didn't do it herself. What she's selling keeps people on the hamster wheel.

what she has said about the "walk-in" thing several times over the years is: that it was an explanation that she did not need or necessarily subscribed to re: what happened to her. but rather that it was an explanation that made certain of her family & friends more comfortable, that it was a concept, something they could wrap *their* minds around as an explanation. one that helped *them* at that time..and it makes sense that some people would believe that if they had no other referencing or 'language' for what they thought they understood...& who knows, anything is possible, but KT, herself, seemed to not be attached to any particular explanation or whether or not it's true. *;-)*

Forgive my rants. I do not think the solution to a problem is getting into the problem. Digging all the bad stuff up just brings it into the now. The now should be nothing but positive vibrations, it is the now that creates the future. Just be happy, the hurts and scars are not real anymore, just do what brings you joy.

An unquestioned mind suffers. Your mind sets your vibration. Pain is inevitable...but suffering is a choice. True, deep exploration of your "beliefs" about yourself, your world, 'people'.. takes an enormous amount of humility, courage and stamina. It's not for the faint of heart. But it's the source of all of your power... to help you be the change you want to see in the world. Peace Neighbor

I had to laugh when Lilou asked about 'Spirituality and once you reach enlightenment'.....Lilou's face to her response to "it's all imagination" was priceless. I just may not have learned or listened to BK enough to understand where she is coming from. I just don't get some of it..maybe it's me. TRUTH exists...period. So to ignore and 'think the past is just imagination' as if things don't happen is ignoring Reality to me. I get part of where she is coming from...but we are Spirit having Human Experience. I'm confused...perhaps I have not reached her level of understanding.

What it means, is that the past is over. Reality is the present moment. Past has gone. It only exists as electrical signals in your brains. As, rememberings, memories, emotions, habits. Same for the future : it is not here yet. It is only images. When you really experience what is happening now, you are touching reality, its true nature. THe project here is to experience life now, without to much identification to all these images of past and future.

It's because she is not used to talk about this stuff. She just does the work. For the first time she started to talk about her experience. She usually says that " it's better lived !!!"

Yeah I worry too much about the future too. Feel like I am getting nowhere doing a meaningless job that doesn't help the planet at all. Stuck on the money treadmill. I want to break from the loop. My thoughts aren't so dark tho, and being vegan now helps.

context. she's describing how she pulled herself out of what sounds a lot like a psychotic break. if one isn't recognizing reality anyway & is suffering immensely, then it can be a necessary relief to remove the sense of suffering temporarily, to enable one to regain sanity. during that time, one is what she describes as 'one foot in the dream world, & yet not...the dream', description beginning at 10:58 . integration.

That is true. The Work is a constant process, but it does get easier over time and our beliefs become less irrational.

Agreed. In this seeming paradigm there's only a continuity of past. One cannot talk about the so-called "now" without using words and concepts they've learned in the past. The "now" is just another concept and the same really goes for the past, future, etc.

I don't know what to think-- I'm looking for peace, if these things have worked for her- great... If they'd work for me.. great too. It's hard to unwind life in general- I look for all options. People I have read call her a charlatan, but if it works for some- I'm open to checking it out. My life is not horrific, when I look as an outsider but within yourself it can feel or seem that way-- whatever works I guess... I'm still undecided on all of it. Life is very confusing, *sigh*, isn't it????

In the beginning of the interview, when Lilou asked BK about 'What was going on in the World, and in peoples lives..' What I thought of which was a bit 'strange', and I don't mean this in judgement (more observation)..Is the 'news, climate change, the trees and the skies.." I Agree w/ this, but what about the people dying around the World, the Wars and killing of one another due to all the fear, madness, insanity, etc, etc. I don't know Ms. Katie and 'The Work', beyond briefly looking at her site, which some things are great for individual 'Work', but the 'global approach' just doesn't make sense to me....It's as if she really didn't answer the question.

People like her and Tolle are rare. Yes they had massive awakenings but what about myself and thousands of others who woke up 20 years ago and it closed up ?? Triggering perpetual HELL !! Why didn't relationships not work out?! Two people living through EGO collision ! No need for guilt. Yes universe is friendly but sure as hell, not HUMANS !!! If anybody can clearify me on this please, I'm open for anything at this point. Thank you.
